Dr. Simpson meet with my partner once this spring 2023 (who has been in therapy since 13). Within one session he noted her file with “drug seeking” when she was asking for a REDUCTION in her meds??? Also heavily pushed a BPD insinuation on her *intake* appointment just because she has abandonment trauma-which, as someone with BPD, I found insane of him. She doesn’t have any BPD characteristics required to even insinuate that should be a pursued diagnosis. Also noted “extreme risk for addiction due to family” when she has never used/abused drugs. We don’t even drink alcohol. He was dismissive & acted as if he knew more than her about her own mental health- stating everything on her file probably isn’t actually true, she must just have BPD. She immediately found someone else. Again, I would not recommend this individual to anyone who would like actual help with their mental health management- unless of course you’d like a free BPD diagnosis.
