Dr. Peggy Bohnert, MD

I saw Dr. Bohnnert in an inpatient setting for suicidal ideation and psychosis. She immediately took me off my antipsychotic medication which sent me into a psychotic breakdown that's left me absolutely traumatized. Nothing was done to treat the psychosis. She told me I would be going off the meds temporarily and refused to put me back on. After over four months she discharged me while I was still having intense hallucinations and I ended up harming myself the same day. It took well over a year to get the psychosis under control. I still have flashbacks and nightmares about the things I saw and I'm in trauma therapy to work through it. She acts like she knows the patients needs better than they do and it does serious harm to the community. The only good that came out of my time with her was the friendships that I formed with her other clients based on shared experiences. I know several adults who are still dealing with the emotional ramifications of seeing her in childhood.
