I was diagnosed by 2 other drs, winter haven hospital an lakeland hospital with copd an asthma, had numerous ct scans an pft testing done, each time same thing copd an asthma, saw dr rahim today, he says no copd an asthma, i said oh it can go away completely? He says yes , but keep taking your inhalers, an ill see u back in 4 months, but why? My copd an asthma magically disappeared? Why i need to come back, or take meds? I called my old dr at grasslands, she assured me, my copd an asthma has not went away, my first thought, was great, I didn’t need to stop smoking, stop an buy a pack on the way home, I didn’t quit smoking because i wanted to, i quit because i have asthma an copd, so if it magically went away, then that means 30 plus years of smoking does no harm, an i can go back to smoking, he really shouldn’t be telling people that, he didn’t know that i had already done the pft testing an ct scans every year, for the past 10 plus years

Terrible, unprofessional
Unprofessional and unethical staff. Moved office without any notice or information to patients! Called the Lakeland office right away, on hold for over half an hour, when Mike Young couldn't find the address 799 Overlook Dr, Winter Haven, where the office used to be! Though he found me in their system he couldn't give another appt, but promised to call back in 10 minutes, but it never happened. I called again in the afternoon, spoke to Mike Young and he apologized, then began some weird story about how he couldn't find my referral. I explained about my PPO insurance, not needing a referral and that I was Dr. Rahim's patient for past 3+ yrs, but no success with an appointment. Since Mar 2023, I've been having issues about my CPAP mask, etc. Dr Rahim had me see his technician costing another $30 copay, but neither he nor his office have responded to my follow up calls, messages and emails, till date. I'm appalled, frustrated and disgusted! I will never return to Dr Rahim.

Worst doctor and staff ever!!
Dr Perwaiz Rahim and most of his Staff are very unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. Unwilling to discuss patient needs in a professional manner. Doctor is an angry individual and he doesn’t even assess his patients or even pick up a stethoscope. He is unwilling to allow his patients or family to ask questions without interrupting you mid sentence. Tried calling for days to resolve issues with no answer or return if calls. He is Unwilling to continue treatment after questioning and unwilling to complete a referral for follow up care. My family will probably end up back in the hospital due to their lack of care and unsafe discharge from his care.

Staff and Dr both get failing grades.
Started seeing him in Feb. 2022 due to infection in my lungs from pesticides used at orange grove in backyard. After CT scan he said I was just fine, it was just my asthma. Last pulmonologist said quite differently. I only stopped going to him because of the long drive. My 2 visits with Rahim lasted 3-4 minutes. Felt very rushed. I had questions, but nope he was out the door. Did home sleep study test. Had to bring it back due to office worker not putting it together right. I was then supposed to get a CPAP machine. DME called with wrong info, I politely corrected what they had. Gal was super nice. Called the office to make sure they had right info. The last I ever spoke to them. I've been ghosted since Feb. Humana even called them a few times. Nothing. Office staff very unprofessional. Like a group of high schoolers. Just now looking at his past medical history and claims, I'm glad he's not my Dr anymore. I would never recommend Dr Rahim.

My visits are uneventful. The office is usually very busy. Calling to speak with a member of staff is hard. I leave messages after messages with no return call. AS long as you have no problems, Dr. Rahim is quick. He seems like a very busy doctor. The wait times aren't normally long. The staff, despite trying to get a hold of them, are really nice and friendly. I would recommend them.

He doesn’t seem to listen. You can tell he has other things on his mind. Never sits down to see how you are doing. If you want to call, just go to office and save your time. The office doesn’t answer the phone nor return calls. I’ve been a patient of his for about 14 years. However, I am making changes. Hate to start over again but his office needs some advice.

I like Dr. Rahim. He is short & too the point. He asks if I have any concerns. If I don't, he gives me refills on my medication and I'm on my way. Sometimes I've got other things to do, and he takes just as much time as I need. He seems concerned about my health. He will get on you if you're not doing what you are supposed to be doing. My PCP does the same thing! I've only seen what someone called "cocky" once. But he did have a smile on his face. Sometimes people aren't in a very good mood. The more time you take with him, the longer it takes for others to be seen. He tries to get you in and out to get to the other patients, not for money. He will sit and listen if you have any concerns. I don't mind going to see him.

Dr. Rahim's lack of care, concern, or compassion for his patients put them in extreme life threatening danger. He is cocky & condescending. He cares much more about money than quality care. Please BEWARE!

I highly recommend you stay far away from this Pulmonologist. He is the worst in Polk County. It is public record he has been called in front of the local medical board because of issues with his Care of patients. His office is packed but just so he can take in as many appointments as possible to take your money and bill insurance. Every appointment I had with him lasted less than 2 minutes face to face. He is not an advocate for your concerns.

After reading previous reviews I was very nervous about my visit to Dr Rahim. I did not have the same experience as the other reviewers. He answered all my questions in an honest straightforward manner. I felt I could believe & trust what he was telling me. Maybe sometimes he will tell you something you don't want to hear but you can trust him when he says it. He was very business like but not in an unfriendly manner & that's what keeps you from sitting in the waiting room for long time.
