I wish that I could Peter Bertin a negative rating because he does not even deserve one star. He was rude arrogant disrespectful and acted like a spoiled brat. My husband scheduled an appointment to discuss having his gallbladder removed due to the fact that the testing indicated that there were stones present and the gallbladder was diseased. He did not even look at his test results and of course did not have my husband’s file with him. We thought that he left to retrieve his file but instead moved on to the next patient. I don’t know how he keeps his job or who he knows.

My family doctor put me on an antibiotic for an infected cyst... The infected cyst was miserable. Itching, burning and was not responding to antibiotics much. I went back to let my family doctor know and she said it needed to be cut and drained, she asked me what surgeon I wanted to see and mentioned a few names. I said please call around and get me in with whoever can see me quickest! It was Dr. Berlin. I found him to be very caring and easy to talk to. He explained what my options were and we decided for him to cut and drain the cyst. He did an excellent job. He made me feel very comfortable in a scary painful situation. When I had a concern 5 days after procedure, I got another appointment for him to look at it and he reassure me that it was healing and doing what it needed to do. I saw him again today three weeks after the procedure and I am pleased to say That everything is healing and doing as good as can be expected. Thank you so much for your help Dr. Berlin.

My recent colonoscopy shows Dr Bertin as being extremely competent along with his anesthesiologist (sorry David, I don't remember your last name) and nurse. Very positive experience!

Dr. Bertin performed an endoscopy at Windber Hospital on May 28, 2021. I was experiencing pain in my abdomen and I could/can feel a lump in my stomach area. Dr. Bertin arrived two hours late for my procedure. I was Memorial Day weekend and he was clearly in a rush. In fact he left without signing my discharge papers and a nurse had to track him down after he left the hospital. Apparently he took a sample for biopsy. It's been more than three weeks since I had the endoscopy and I have heard nothing from him or his office. Basically, his diagnosis was that that I have gastritis but the lump in my stomach has only grown larger and more painful. In my opinion the entire experience was a complete waste of time and money.

I developed a volvulus in 2011 and Dr. Bertin saved my life. Had he not been on call that early morning, I'm not sure I would be alive today. I owe my life to him. I would highly recommend him to anyone and all.

If I could give a 0 I would. Dr Bertin has very poor bedside manners. A few days after he removed my gall bladder I had to go to the emergency room for pain in my right side from below my breast into my back. No pain med was helping, scans all came back ok, tests were good, etc Since no meds were helping, the hospital decided to keep me over night. The following day when dr Bertin came in for a follow up, he basically told me that the pain was all in my head and i should have never been admit me
