My Cardiologist sent me to Dr Cheung for an endarterectomy. Friends were begging me to go to Phoenix to get 'better care'. l opted to choose Dr Peter Cheung in Yuma, AZ. The moment I met him, I felt I had made the right choice. He was welcoming, comforting and thorough, even drawing a diagram of what he was going to do. He explained the risks. When I got emotional, he was concerned and reassuring. He has performed thousands of this particular surgery. I questioned his patients who I saw in the waiting room. Three of those people said the words, 'Dr. Cheung saved my life'. He did an amazing job during my surgery, even finding a second blocked artery. I called him once after hours with a question, and he was very pleased that I called him. I can't imagine having a better surgeon if I had chosen to go to Phoenix. Just like those three patients that I spoke with in his office, I can now join them in saying, 'I feel like Dr. Peter Cheung saved and prolonged my life'. Thank you Dr Cheung

I was referred to Dr Cheung for a thyroid needle biopsy. When I went to that appointment on November 2, 2021, I was told he didn’t do those but that he could order it. There were delays in getting the biopsy scheduled at Yuma Regional Medical Center while I tracked down the previous thyroid ultrasound & hand delivered it to the hospital because Dr Cheung’s office wasn’t supposedly tied into the hospital’s record system. The thyroid biopsy finally happened on December 7, 2021 with the results posted on the hospital’s portal within the next 2 days. This morning, January 3, 2022, 2 months after initially seeing him & nearly a month after the posted biopsy results, I received a phone call from his office requesting that I come in to see him today. Dr Cheung may be a great doctor but I will never know because of the unprofessional follow up I have received from this office. Thank God, my primary care physician was able to step in & get things moving in the right direction.

I found Dr. Cheung to be a very informative, friendly Dr. He explained everything he was going to do and asked if I had questions, etc. My surgery went just like it should have and I am confident in recommending him. I will ask for him again if I need more surgery in the future!

Called to make an appointment, and the lady that answered the phone was rude. She wouldn't make an appointment for me, she said the Dr. will review your PCP's notes and get back to your PCP. Never heard back from them again. Very sad because I've always heard great things about Dr. Cheung but with a front staff like that? No thanks.

This place will cancel your appointment if you do not go in a week early to fill out the paper work. (Which they claim they tell everyone about, wrong!) They won't even call or mail you any type of reminder. Wait 2 months for a appointment only to find out the office staff cancels it without telling you. Poor customer service.

A friend of mine a RN that worked with Dr Cheung during surgery referred me to him. She said he is a very good surgeon and would trust her life to him. I scheduled an appointment, his receptionist/secretaries are very rude and unprofessional. It's difficult to deal with them no people skills what so ever.
