Always Straightforward & cares
I've seen Dr. Gerszten for about 10 yrs and he was my 2nd opinion on the beginning and the only one that could help due to my being 30 at the time. He's done 2 spinal fusions & 3 other surgeries. I respect Dr. Gerszten as he's always very straight with you & has excellent bedside manners. His staff was very caring too and were prompt in returning my calls as well. I no longer live near PA unfortunately but if I could drive there for visits I would do so.

Dr. Gerszten destroyed my husband. He did a surgery on him and discharged him in terrible terrible pain and left him with an unstable spine. My husband has suffered for 18 years since his experience with Gerszten. Horrible and left me with PTSD and a ruined life. He was completely different before the surgery (nice and compassionate) and after (dismissive). We were used and tossed aside.

Worse bedside manner I have ever had to experience ... no exam ... if he spent 2 minutes with the patient that was exaggerating... most prejudicial and discriminating doctor I have meet towards overweight women... never discussed test results

I will not let anyone except Dr Gerzsten work on me. I went to Ohio State for a cervical fusion in Sept. 2011. After a year my chiropractor recommended I see dr. Gerzsten for a consultation because I wasn't better, I was worse. On a Friday in Jan. 2013, Dr. Gerzsten reviewed my films and said "I'm doing surgery & im doing it Tuesday" the hardware from the first dr needed removed & replaced & a 2nd level done. Dr. Gerzsten was my miracle worker. My back needs done & I won't go anywhere else!

Never did 1 simple thing for me, except talk over the course of 18 months. never asked about my Parkinson's or how it is affecting my neck and lower back pain. Continually asked me "how I want to proceed?" Ordered Neck Traction, and later discovered from other more competent Neurosurgeons and Neurologists, that the traction actuall caused more damage to my narrow canal in my neck. I have a lower body balance issue, and he said physical therapy on my neck would help push the discs back into place

the 'good' doctor has lost his focus and desire to help everyone. 5 visits and all we do is talk.. Well, he talks, I listen. He rarely lets me finish my sentence. He spends very little time with me. Never explains anything. So disheartening to visit this man.
