Dr. Peter Gill, MD

He did surgery on family member. Removed part of her colon and did a poor job on the illiostomy. Unfortunately, she developed a severe infection. Seek a second opinion before having surgery with him. He can be arrogant.

My family has been through a difficult ordeal after this physician did what should’ve been simple day surgery that went bad. The patient became septic due a bladder injury that occurred during the procedure and since had second surgery, new surgeon and numerous health issues none of which existed before this procedure. He’s been through literally hundreds of lab tests, x-rays and CT scans and consults and is still not well enough to be discharged. It’s been almost a month with no answers to help resolve the numerous ongoing complications. Absolutely heartbreaking and we feel totally defeated. We absolutely would never recommend this surgeon to anyone. We had to file a formal complaint with the hospital to get him to stay away from the patient’s room and stop following his case. He would not take any responsibility and it felt like he was always making up excuses for everything that was happening. I can’t say enough about how, devastating this has been..

I had my gallbladder removed. Whenever I asked if symptoms were normal; he just brushed them off. Had two severe episodes within 4 weeks after surgery. His response was 'it's not related to surgery and to call my PCP'. The pain is exactly where the gallbladder was removed from and only happed after the surgery. There is no patient care. He is full of himself - do not recommend!

Minor surgery from Dr. Gill in his Peabody office; two incisions with internal sutures. Dr. Gill was friendly, took time to explain everything about the surgery and care needed afterwards. Scheduling an appointment was easy and straightforward, and his Surgical Assistant Christine is absolutely top-shelf, ensuring my comfort throughout the procedure while assisting Dr. Gill flawlessly.

I found Doctor Gill very professional, yet friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and sympathetic to my medical problem. His Nurse was exceptional and his staff very efficient and friendly. I have recommended him to my friends and family.
