Dr. Peter Lim, MD

Dr. Lim was my surgeon for a hysterectomy. I developed hernias a few month after the surgery, and went to him to see what I can do about it. He was very curt, and said that he doesn’t do hernias. That is something his nurse could have told me, when I told her what I had and made my appointment. When I asked him if he could recommend another surgeon who treats hernias, he said no, there are lots out there. Overall, he likes to interrupt patients when they are speaking and treats them rudely. I also had to wait almost two hours after my appointed time when my consultation with him lasted all but five minutes.

Diagnosed in Sacramento 05/09/23 with uterine cancer. Found Dr. Lim had an appt within days. Saw him in Reno 05/15/23 with surgery scheduled 05/19/23. Dr. Lim is a god send. Could not get an appt in Sacramento quickly and his office got me in asap. He is direct and to the point explains everything and moves quickly. My husband and I explained we had severe PTSD and anxiety from another hospital stay he listened; HE HEARD US. Dr. Lim came into pre op 2 Xs to check on me and the minute my surgery was complete he went to the waiting room and informed my husband how things went. He went to check post op to see if I was there yet and as soon as I was, he personally went and got my husband. He knew how important it was to him that he was there as soon as possible. My surgery was on a Friday Dr. Lim called me on Sunday morning checking on me. I was floored and profusely thanked him for everything. This office..... this Dr. are above and beyond any other. Dr. Lim is an incredible human being.

My wife was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer and after getting no phone call back from a GYN Oncologist in sacramento we decided to ask around to friends and family and we ended up in Reno to see Dr Lim. He was able to get my wife scheduled for surgery and was amazing at information and he did great to calm us on the day of the surgery, he even walked me back to my wife after, WHO does that in todays world of big medicine. we will definitely be telling everyone about our experience and recommend Dr Lim

My visits with Dr Lim have been the best. He is thorough and takes his time with each patient. Was quick to get me in for robotic surgery and started my treatment (Chemo)right away. He listens to you very carefully on your wants and needs and takes precaution on what should be done next. Gives you all options. Sometime the wait for him is a little long but that is because he takes his time with each patient! And who does THAT! Dr Lim is my Sherpa….Dr. Lim is the robotic specialist in his field…..

Dr. Lim literally changed my life. I have had issues with endometriosis for decades, and after undergoing surgery with him and his staff, I am now recovering and getting better every day! Pain free. I’m amazed and so grateful! If you are reading bad reviews about him, I’m genuinely confused. He was so great, wonderful bedside manner, and BELIEVED ME that I was in pain (most doctors don’t)! I think people just don’t understand how the healthcare system works, and that Dr. Lim is extremely busy. I never write reviews, but I think Dr. Lim deserves a great positive review :)

Dr. Lim is an incredible physician we are extremely fortunate to have him in our area. Everyone in his office is outstanding. He had to perform surgery on me he took time out of his busy schedule to call me with pathology results. There is not enough room for me to express how phenomenal Dr. Lim and his staff are. Thank you for truly caring about your patients.

I highly recommend Dr Lim and his staff. I had a radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer. He is dynamic and passionate about treating his patients. I have felt from day one that I had the best possible care. His staff took first class of me. I am totally grateful to Dr. Lim and The Center of Hope.

Dr Lim is a wonderful doctor ... he cares about his patients , so lucky to find him and he did a robotic hysterectomy ... brand new in town. His office is beautiful /relaxing. Many of his staff are competent, others “say to call” they don’t call you back. My surgery schedule was overlooked and I’f not for me calling the hospital not sure what would happen. Office girls need better follow up on obtaining records and authorizations. Day before surgery 1:30 (won’t mention her name) called and “told me it was my job to call insurance cuz I may have to stop the prep.” I already drank it needless to say I was scared out of my mind. I called and got the authorization and the office person called me ten min later that she got it too. Think this person should have kept calling from December 16 .... surgery date was given to me on Dec 2nd and there was ample time to schedule me for the hospital/authorization for surgery Dec 22nd. Most are nice not rude and you get the best dr on earth!

Dr. Lim is a passionate, experienced, conscientious doctor who will spend ample time to find the best treatment options for his patients. His first class office, the Center of Hope, is immaculate and the staff is organized, well trained, and respectful. Shannon also deserves a 5 star rating for her hard work and outstanding communication skills. I have dealt with 5 different offices (including MDANDERSON in Houston, TX) with my disease and the experience at the Center of Hope was far superior to the rest. In summary, Dr. Lim is a superb oncologist and I am thankful I was referred to his office.

I was treated immediately upon referral by my gyn. Dr. Lim, Tiffany and staff were very thorough, very informative, and made me feel very comfortable. I am very pleased and thankful I have them "on my side". They are the best.

Dr. Lim emulates everything that a doctor should be. He is empathetic, very knowledgeable and truly emulates what a doctor should be. He is a very rare gem not the run of the mill churn type of doctor. I feel truly blessed to have him in my life and if more doctors were like him then the world of medicine would be better off. He spends as much time as you want answering all your questions and is attentive and responsive to all my questions and concerns. Dr. Lim operated on me 7/28/2020 and he spent uber amounts of time explaining the results, including photos to my husband and then followed up the next day mid morning to ask me about how I was and any questions. His staff is receptive, answers the phone and very friendly. Personally this is what medicine should look like! I find it refreshing in this world to find a Dr. and his staff available, ones that actually answer the phones, ones that care and ones that always smile. Dr. Lim will always hold a piece of my heart!

Dr. Lim and his Staff treated me with the utmost care and concern. He knew that I was very worried about a pelvic cyst the size of a cantaloupe that was found during my CT Scan. My husband had passed away 11 months ago and, naturally, I was worried about my Family. I saw Dr. Lim on Monday and he took me into surgery on Thursday. No hesitation and no stringing it out to cause me more worry. He was kind and compassionate to my Children and told them that he didn’t want them to go through all of the waiting and extra stress given what we had been through. I am a Realtor and was back to work the Monday following my surgery. Something else.......Dr. Lim called me, himself, to give me the good news that my pathology didn’t show any cancer. He didn’t pass that task off to his Staff. God blessed Dr. Lim with a talent and I am grateful that he is my Doctor. I would not hesitate to refer Dr. Lim to anyone needing his talent and expertise.

Terrible physician. Treats his patients like objects rather than humans. Tries to force you into surgery even when it's not necessary. He knows he is the only gynecologic oncologist in Reno therefore he uses this as a reason to treat his patients terribly and blame it on "high patient volumes". There is absolutely no communication between doctor, nurses and office staff leading to lots of stress and confusion for the patient. Please go out-of-network, anything is better than Dr. Lim and his office staff. Doctors like this are why medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States.

At one point I raised my hand to ask a question, which he answered. Later while explaining something else he stopped in mid-sentence and said, “You have another question don’t you?” I was shocked. I have NEVER had a doctor who was so observant, aware of my needs, and patient in responding. At some point my husband, looked at me and silently mouthed, “I like this guy! Go with him!” I did. Doctor and staff were empathetic and compassionate with me... understanding my fear. I'm grateful to all!!!

Dr. Peter C. Lim is an excellent surgeon with wonderful beside manner. He is the only gynecological oncologist in Reno, and he is well known in the medical world for his skill and expertise. The long wait happens because he is very thorough with every patient, including you when it is your turn. Unfortunately, his office staff are horrid. Gina the office manager sets a bad example for the rest of the staff. However, I'd rather have excellent surgeon and bad clerical staff than vice versa.

Through office visits, call backs, surgery, and treatments, I know Dr. Lim and his entire staff are committed to their patients well being. During office visits I feel like I am their only patient. Whether I am seeing Dr. Lim, or a PA, or a nurse, they all take the time to listen, to communicate with me, and I never feel rushed. Liz and Jenise have been wonderful and thorough. Gina, the office manager, is a pleasure to work with and she's super quick. We are lucky to have this practice locally

I have been a patient of Dr.Lim's just recently. I have had uterine cancer and undergone a hysterectomy. Thanks to Dr. Lim spending enough time educating me on my condition I was able to make a decision on my future care with confidence. I was so educated that I was able to go home and draw an illustration for my family so that they could understand my illness as well.

The outstanding care of Dr. Lim and his wonderful staff at Renown Surgery, Out- Patient was so impressive I just had to write. My Mom had minor surgery yesterday. The whole process was so organized with the pre-surgery check, to the personal consultation with Dr. Lim himself (the day of surgery in a private consult room) The surgical and floor Staff were excellent, Amy, Laura, Neil and all were so caring and personable. We were very impressed and know we received top notch CARE - Thank YOU!

Great Doctor. I went for a second opinion on a condition. His office is very busy and there was a bit of a wait for an appointment, but once he saw me, Dr. Lim took time with me and listened to my concerns. He has an excellent bedside manner. It was clear to me that he knew his area of expertise. I think the fact that there was a wait was probably due to the fact that the Doctor really cares about his patients, and so he doesn't want to rush, and he takes the right amount of time with everyone.

He doesn’t talk to family members after the surgery. It appears, “Once he’s done, the family is left wondering”! I had to find out what was done to my sister from the nurse caring for her. Four weeks later, we still have not seen Dr. Lim. We’ve seen his Physican’s Assistant, due to an infection, Dr. Lim? Oh, let me not forget the two times she had to see another Physican for antibiotics due to an infection, because Dr. Lim’s office pushed her post-op appointment out to three weeks. Refferal, NO
