Dr Maughan identified where my horrible leg pain was coming from when other surgeons couldn't. He got me in for back surgery and I feel so much better! 10 months post op and I have no complaints at all. His staff were also so kind which was a breath of fresh air when I dealt with so many other surgeons whose staff were arrogant and condescending.

Terrible post care surgery concern
Had a major back surgery. Double fusion and broken vertebrae. A 5 hour surgery. I lost my job and have been on disability. Went in for a post op visit, the “pa” came in and already had the paperwork to clear me back to work (construction) before asking questions to how I was feeling. I’d been to physical therapy and struggled to get my strength and coordination back. It was in the physical therapy notes. She came in with a bad attitude, didn’t care about my concerns of getting injured again going back. My coworker had just had a single fusion, went back after 6 months and is going in for another surgery again now from getting hurt again. I haven’t had a 6 month recovery from a much worse surgery. Handed me the paper work, walked out, didn’t say bye, good luck, nothing. She was not the usual PA I had seen before that was much more concerned. My work won’t hire me back from concerns of my back after my friend. This is my line of work for 20 years. Hard to start over. Bad post care

Dr Maughn is an excellent brain surgeon, I had a meningioma on my pituitary gland and he went in and removed it with no difficulties...I have recovered very well. If you are looking for a excellent surgeon what ever it might be please feel comforted to know you are in good hands with Dr Maughn and Lori his assistant along with his staff that is with them in surgery room.

Dr. Maughn is an amazing Dr. The surgery (ACDF) I received has been life changing, all for the better. I was in excruciating pain constantly before the surgery, now I am pain free. While the recovery from the surgery can be difficult, I would do it all again to be pain free. Dr. Maughn did an exceptional job with the surgery and I am thankful that I was able to have a Dr. of his caliber perform it. If you need a form of neurosurgery, I would highly encourage you to seek out Dr. Maughn.

Performed spinal fusion on C5-C6 in 2013. Results are fabulous. Also saved my wife's life last year after another neurosurgeon delayed diagnosing her for 9 days with MSSA in the spine. I would recommend him to anyone needing neurosurgery.
