Dr. Nichol was dismissive and unprofessional from the start. Our 3 year old daughter had a growth that was causing her pain and discomfort. The pathology of the growth came back concerning, which Dr. Nichol continually dismissed as "fine" despite the science saying otherwise. I had to specifically ask him to examine her both in office and prior to surgery. He was reckless with our concerns and despite his attitude, he agreed to do the procedure to remove the growth. Two days prior to her surgery, I returned a phone call from him to which he answered the phone, "Hey, sup?". Very unprofessional. We drove three hours to UW to have her surgery and once again, we voiced our concerns to Dr. Nichol and the anesthesiologist. They were very reckless with our daughter's care, they put her under anesthesia and yet Dr. Nichol did not remove the growth. Anesthesia is a risk in itself and Dr. Nichol returned to our room after our daughter had been in the OR for no more than 20 minutes and once again tried to tell us it was "nothing" and that he "removed the stitch". He did not remove the growth as originally discussed. Our daughter has been in pain and discomfort for months. Not surprisingly, the nurses were shocked that he didn't do anything. One nurse mysteriously was "off" and we didn't see her again after the procedure even though she was supposed to follow up with us. We immediately got with patient relations to work to remedy the reckless and unacceptable care we received. When they were supposed to remove the growth, they were supposed to get secondary pathology as well to clear up the confusion from the initial pathology report. We had to find secondary care for our daughter because the growth has continued to cause her pain and discomfort. We are essentially are paying for the same procedure twice. Unprofessional, dismissive, and egotistical are a few words that come to mind when reviewing our interactions with Dr. Nichol.

Dr Nichol saved my sons life. Numerous doctors could not figure out what was wrong and were going to release him. He left a weekend party and rushed to the hospital and he was not on call. He diagnosed a very serious problem immediately and my son was in surgery in a matter of minutes after 2 hospitals and 2 days with others that could not figure out the diagnosis. 30-60 minutes later my son would have passed away. My son is now 9 and is very healty. We will always be grateful!
