In October 2023 my colon burst and I was rushed to Amita healthcare in Elk Grove. Dr. Rantis performed emergency surgery on me and saved my life. I was left with a colostomy bag which I had to wear for 10 months while my wound healed. After 10 months he did a reversal and now I am back to normal. He is an outstanding physician and Surgeon . I would highly recommend him to anyone.

The absolute worst experience. He has the worst attitude. Worst experience. Went for a follow up and they canceled my apt without even telling me. I truly pray nobody goes to this guy. Do yourself a favor and find someone who truly cares. You have to advocate for yourself with these people and this dr Rantis doesn't care at all. Cut me off multiple times while trying to talk. Rolled his eyes. Literally while I was on the hospital bed he made me feel like so hopeless. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO HIM. FIND SOMEONE ELSE

My wife had colon surgery in Fort Myers, Florida and she almost died from infection and hemorrhaging. After almost 4 weeks in the hospital she was discharged with an ileostomy bag which was to be for a few months until she recovered. Once she was to the point that the reconnection could be performed imaging revealed that the opening in her colon was 1/16". We proceeded to arrange for an appointment with Dr. Rantis who agreed to perform surgery to correct the issues from her surgery in Florida. A 2 hours surgery ended up being 5 hours because of complications from the surgery performed in Florida. Two days after the surgery with Dr. Rantis she was discharged and 6 weeks later her ileostomy was reversed. Dr. Rantis saved her life in my opinion and she now has returned to a normal life. I recently recommended a friend with a similar problem and and Dr. Rantis overcame issues and she had the same great result. He is a 10!!!!

My friend and I had surgery in 2019 with him, only we did not lose nearly enough weight through a bariatric surgery he also left me with acid reflux.

Dr. Rantis tells it like it is. Honest and thoughtful, I feel very privileged to have secured an appointment and have him do my surgery. Would recommend him to anyone!

Very professional and educating

Courteous and efficient office staff and nursing staff. Dr. Rantis is kind, knowledgeable and professional. He will take time to explain health issues and discuss all options to address them. I would be comfortable and confident referring a family member...which is the highest recommendation that I can make.

Yes he is knowledgeable about surgical options. He explained to me what he was going to do, in a way that I could understand. Also I have a problem with speech recognition, and he took the time to make sure I understood everything.

Dr Rantis performed Rubber band Ligation and did not work . I went to a different Dr had the same procedure done and worked perfectly fine. Dr Rantis seemed more concerned that I get a colonoscopy then dealing with the actual problem.

He not only saved my life with bariatric surgery he ALSO saved my husband’s life with colon surgery & to top it off my sons life while I was pregnant @ needed gallbladder surgery!! Triple hero!!????????????

Dr. Rantis is such a great doctor. Totally upbeat and encouraging. I went in for a follow up after 2 years absence and it was like I was there the day before. He knew who I was my history and it was so welcoming to talk to him without feeling rushed. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Rantis and his staff.

WHATEVER YOU DO, PLEASE SELECT A DIFFERENT SURGEON FOR ! Dr. Rantis performed a routine hernia repair surgery on me earlier this year. Several medical experts informed me that my recovery time should be about 4- 6 weeks, what has now turned out to be 5 months! Even worse, not only has it been 5 months now and I'm no where near healed, the hernia itself has actually re-appeared and has come back. I've already paid him THIRTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR MY SURGERY, now must have it all over again.

He was just the best!! So far,so good-I am down over 50 lbs and counting with no problems... Thank you Dr Rantis!!
