If Dr. Tin weren’t an oral surgeon, I’d swear he’d be pulling teeth in a basement for fun. He is rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in compassion. The local anesthetic? It felt like he was driving an icepick into my gums. Comfort measures? Nonexistent. No, you're doing great, we’re almost done nothing! I wasn’t allowed have anything to ease my anxiety, and my partner wasn’t even allowed to stay with me. The entire experience was cold, rushed, and brutal. I’d trust a barber from the 1800s over this guy. Even a demon would have better bedside manner. Avoid at all costs!

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Dr. Tin during my wisdom tooth removal. From the moment I sat in the chair, he was dismissive and downright rude. I informed him that I have PTSD from past dental trauma and specifically asked him to let me know what he was doing beforehand to help manage my anxiety—since I was awake for the entire procedure. Instead of showing any compassion, he acted like I was an inconvenience for even asking questions. During the procedure, he was impatient and unprofessional, bluntly stating, “I don’t have time to baby you through this. Do you want them removed or not?” As if undergoing oral surgery while terrified was a matter of choice. The whole process was rushed, lasting only about 20 minutes, and was both painful and humiliating. When it was over, he didn’t have the basic courtesy to say, “You’re finished.” He simply left the room without a word. To make matters worse, they refused to let my husband stay with me for support, forcing him to wait in the waiting room. After the procedure, the assistant walked me to the waiting room and handed my husband my care instructions instead of speaking with me directly. I felt completely abandoned and dehumanized throughout the experience. If you suffer from dental anxiety, PTSD, or simply expect to be treated with basic human decency, avoid Dr. Tin at all costs. His lack of empathy, professionalism, and bedside manner is inexcusable.

Awful person
This is 2 months after and every thing healed fine, but he is extremely unprofessional and rude. not a nice person . i kept telling him i was in pain, screaming and crying during the extraction and he held my head down and kept pulling even though i was in the worst pain ever(he checked before and i said i can still feel everything and he decided to yank my tooth out anyways ) do not go to him ever. you will be disappointed.

My mother went in for the removal of her wisdom teeth. He commented on her age as well as how hard it would be for him to remove the wisdom teeth. The ones he had already looked at x-rays of and should have known BEFOREHAND. As 80-90% of people would be, my mother was nervous. She was not properly sedated and/or numbed and could feel the pulling of the tooth. When she said “ow” dr. Tin told her if she was going to say “ow” he would have to stop the procedure. Lack of empathy. Lack of prep. Lack of bedside manner. Do your research first!!!!

Nice and Efficient
I had Dr. Tin locally remove all four of my wisdom teeth and he was great. He had a very nice demeanor and went straight to business after going through the usual patient doctor talk. The procedure was quick and I didn’t feel a thing. Even the application of the local anesthesia (needle) didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would. Overall great Doctor, highly recommend and would see him again.

What a great experience
I just had 3 of my wisdom teeth removed today at the Aspen Dental in Horseheads -NY and Dr. Tin was amazing. The operation was quick, minimal if any pain, he answered all my questions and eased my anxiety when I told him I was very anxious. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews honestly. I wasn't going to write a review until I saw all the negative ones so I wanted to make sure to give a good review because he deserves it. Thanks again Dr. Tin

Lacks empathy, horrible experience
Disappointed in the treatment of this “doctor”. Lacks basic empathy and has poor bedside manner. I was crying prior to him coming in the room and apparently that was an issue. I suffer from anxiety and he kept threatening to not do my extractions. Wouldn’t sedate me because my blood pressure was too high, even after it came down. Grabbed the top of my head and started pulling teeth (Novocain was given) but there were 2 teeth I felt and when I winced he yelled at me to stop moving or he wasn’t going to complete the procedure. When I asked him if he needed to hold my head like that, he snapped at me with a yes. I obviously wouldn’t know if that’s true or not. It just felt barbaric and super off the books. This man is not kind. If you have the choice, go with literally anyone else.

Guess the reviews were right
Had anxiety before wisdom tooth extraction and was crying, he threatened to not treat me and kept asking if I actually wanted my tooth out. I asked him to give me a moment to collect myself and he got impatient and kept asking if I would go through with it. He also questioned why I wasn’t medicated for anxiety, which I found really unprofessional and unnecessary. Always a shame when doctors forget they’re supposed to have somewhat of a bedside manner, but at least it’s over now.

Very good!
I began drinking pineapple juice a couple days leading up to the surgery, which I read can help reduce inflammation. I had never met Dr. Tin before my wisdom teeth removal. It is almost exactly 48 hours after my surgery, and everything is going well. I was a nervous wreck before the surgery, and Dr. Tin and his assistant asked me throughout the procedure if I was doing okay and how I was feeling. The entire procedure only lasted about 20 minutes, and it was much easier on the patient's end than I was imagining. Two days later, and I have no swelling or pain; I haven't needed any pain medications today. Of course each case is different, but if you follow the guidelines given to before the surgery, you should be fine. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews, but for all we know, Dr. Tin could have 30 surgeries that went swimmingly for every one that a patient was upset; the difference is that people feel more inclined to post a review when they had a bad experience.

Discrimination
Daughter had an anxiety attack, anxiety is something we have been working through with the dentist. He had no compassion and was rude. The dentist talked with him and suggested we get meds to help. Had PC prescribe meds. Waited a month to even be able to make an appointment to find out he refuses to see her because of anxiety even know we did what he asked.

Horrible
Has to be the worst experience I could have imagined getting teeth pulled. I woke up mid-surgery screaming in pain while one of my teeth were getting pulled and my pain was completely dismissed by Dr. Tin.

Had tooth implants done. He was caring yet efficient and thorough. It was painless and fast (until the novocaine wore off, of course). I would highly recommend Dr Tin and his assistant surgeon. Both are very professional and friendly.
