DO NOT recommend
Elbaum is arrogant, entitled, rude, judgmental, and incompetent. I would never recommend him to anyone I care about.

Horrible experience
Elbaum is by far the worst physician I have ever been to. He did not take anything I had to say seriously and definitely didn’t take my very unusual symptoms and complaints of pain seriously. He missed a very bad condition that I had. I would never recommend anyone to go see him. It’s unfortunate this practice is the only one around the Wyomissing/Reading area.

I am trying to get in touch with Dr. Elbaum after having had a colonoscopy on 10/1st. but I can't get through on the phone. I am now at Berks Heim as a resident since 10/9th. I am still having some digestive issues with mostly diarrhea.

Dr. Elbaum epitomizes what you want in in a specialist clinician. Current in training, generous with his empathy and receptivity to patient concerns. Highly communicative. Meets you where you are. And, being a highly cynical patient, he surprised and impressed me as immenently trustworthy, dedicated and accesible. Also, can't say enough about those in his practice groups, from intake and admin to procedural assistants and colleagues.

Would not recommend in any way. Did my not my wife’s complaints of severe pain seriously. After finally doing a colonoscopy, he missed IIB nearly IIIB squamous cell carcinoma. Luckily, we saw a surgeon who made the diagnosis that most likely saved her life.

Dr. Elbaum is absolutely fantastic. He's generous with his time (but he doesn't keep you waiting and is usually right on time), thorough, and thoughtful. Answered all my questions and made me comfortable. He's an all around excellent doctor who really goes the extra mile. Also, all the other staff I encountered were wonderful. I highly recommend Digestive Diseases and specifically Dr. Elbaum!
