Dr. Fontenot performed my knee replacement and did a brilliant job. He’s what you need in a surgeon — a blend of excellence and empathy. Follow up visits have great.

He is efficient. I have had good results with him and I feel a good rapport.

I'm an active 70 yo male. Dr. Fontenot did a TKR of my right knee at WNC Surgery Center on Oct. 31st. At that time and in previous visits he prepared me well. He explained what he would do and what I could expect. He listened to me and took the time necessary to answer my questions. He was honest about the procedure, the resultant pain and what I'd have to do to have the outcome I wanted. He didn't sugarcoat it. At my followup visit 9 weeks postop he removed all restrictions and told me I could do anything I wanted to; hike, golf, ski, etc. This week, 10.5 weeks postop I went downhill skiing and had a wonderful day, enjoying myself immensely. I had no problems that day or with my scheduled PT the following day. I have the greatest respect and gratitude for Dr. Fontenot and know I'm just going to continue getting better and better.

I had an appointment 6 weeks prior and didn’t follow the doctors suggestions. Knee was still hurting so I had a steroid shot. I don’t know yet if it will make a big difference but I will follow his other suggestions & see what difference it makes. I felt like he was very thorough and explained everything to me.

Dr Fontenot did a hip replacement surgery. He is incredibly good! I have had an astonishingly great recovery. I am completely satisfied. I strongly recommend him for any orthopedic surgery you might need. Again, I am a patient and Dr Fontenot may be the very best surgeon in our area at this time.

After seeing other doctors, a chiropractor and physical therapist over a period of 2 years I finally was connected with Dr. Fonteno. He listened and understood the pain I was experiencing. He performed a hip replacement for me 5 months ago and I am able to walk, climb stairs, get in and out of my SUV with no pain! At 72 I have my life back. Thank you Dr. Fonteno...an answer to prayer.

I found Dr. Fontenot to be very thorough in his exam. He was very compassionate and his concern for you was obvious. Although he is a surgeon he felt that I should try medical treatment first before considering surgery. Based on his reviews and my impression of him, if surgery is needed, I would look no further than Dr. Fontenot. In reading the reviews of Dr. Fontenot I would definitely discount the one negative review.

Not happy. Waited 6 weeks got turned down for hip replacement, no help in stopping smoking. Too lazy for send in a prescription. No I do not recommend this doctor.

I'm a 69 year old woman in relatively good shape who likes gardening and walking 3 miles a day. I saw Dr. Fontenot when my knee had become so painful, it was hard to walk. I decided to have surgery and while at the hospital, Dr. Fontenot came to see me several times to make sure that I was doing well. Even though my knee was in bad shape, I'm happy to report that my surgery was a total success! When I congratulated him, he was genuinely pleased that I was happy with his work. Lastly, Dr. Fontenot saw me post-operatively and set high standards for me to follow so that I would have the best possible outcome. This included setting up Home Health so that I could have PT in my home until I could drive. If you should need a knee procedure, I highly recommend Dr. Fontenot. He is smart, friendly, approachable and genuinely concerned about your welfare throughout the entire procedure. Five stars Dr. Fontenot!

Dr Fontenot followed up on repair hip fracture and explained tight iliotibial band and advised PT could help me. I want to learn exercises to improve strength and balance and core strength and am looking forward to help of PT because I don’t feel safe going to a gym on my own to try to do this. He treated me with steroid injection knee for probable small méniscal tear. He always listens and is helpful, offers treatment and follow up.

He’s always been very attentive and listens to you. Makes you feel comfortable and does everything to make you feel better. Top notch doctor.
