Not a caring listening physician
A visit with Dr Kim starts out late. If you have a 2pm appointment you’ll see him at 3 pm. When he enters the room you get a bare hello. He immediately starts speaking into the laptop identifying the patients name & other info. Then he turns to you. You tell him what’s happening and you get 1) a sales pitch for a treatment or 2) asked if you need pain medication. If you need a refill, he’ll order quickly, then look at you like what’s next. He has an answer for everything. The visit is over, he tells you when to come back again & leaves the room. You wonder why you came cause you got no help. But you need pain medication cause the pain isn’t better, so you leave.

Uncaring and doesn't listen
Dr Kim is not suited to be a pain management doctor due to his complete lack of empathy and understanding. He doesn't listen to anything you tell him, and doesn't allow you to be involved in your treatment plan. It's his way or no way, even when you explain that you've tried it his way previously with no success. He also makes it seem like it's your suffering is your fault, and speaks down to you as if you are a lesser person. I would definitely recommend avoiding seeing him if at all possible.

Detatched and Exploitative
I had a consultation with Dr. Philip Kim, MD regarding my need for a Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) with pulsed Radio Frequency Ablation (pRFA) for long-term relief of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and other PTSD symptoms. It did not go well, starting with the perfunctory display of cognitive-only empathy. Before he would talk about the procedure I needed, Dr. Kim tried to sell me on an experimental one. He ignored that I said I'd had it before and found it a terrible experience. He just wanted to make the sale. No interest in how it affected me or whether I wanted it. He acted like I was going to do it and pay out of pocket. He told me he would do the SGB with pRFA as an out-of-pocket paid upfront service. He said it would be $1,000: $400 for the surgicenter, $400 for the procedure, $200 for anesthesia. By the time our meeting ended after about 10 minutes, he had jacked up the price to $1,500. I couldn't trust such a disconnected and exploitative person to treat a hangnail.

Please do your research before choosing this dr.
All the negative reviews are 100% accurate. It has been nothing but a nightmare since my Dr. left and this horrible person took over.

Dr. Kim is a highly skilled pain management specialist who employs a variety of techniques and interventions to reduce pain. As a result of his ablations on me, I was able to return to physical therapy and slowly make further progress reducing the pain I've experienced from being hit by four different reckless drivers,

I heard about CIPS from relative of mine. I have been coming here for a little over a year. My experience here has been very good. With medication, exercise, and changing my diet everything seems to be helping out alot. I am very happy when I come here.

He and his staff are really excellent. Very “business like,” but a high level, experienced doctor in his field. I would never go to any other in his field.

I came to Dr. Kim 10 years ago, I was referred by a friend. Dr. Kim is a good medical doctor. The staff is wonderful. I used to have to wait a little in the waiting room, but that hasn't happened in awhile.

We found Dr. Kim online... Dr. Kim was so kind to take me on from my previous pain doctor. He helps me with my CRPS. I went from a wheelchair, to a walker, to a cane, and now I can walk on my own!!! Dr. Kim makes me feel comfortable, he listens to anything and takes the time with me. He's respectful, kind, and funny. He cheers my accomplishments. He is completely open to medical marijuana and that has changed my life. I've been to alot of surgeons and doctors, Dr. Kim is the best!! He is so patient with me and I love that! From everybody here, from the staff to the nurses, they are great. Dr. Kim makes me very happy. He actually cares, when he saw me walking again without my cane.. I think he cried.. he hugged me and celebrated with me! So did the staff!!!

I was referred over here by my PCP. I've been here for a couple years now and there's no issues with scheduling! Dr. Kim is really thorough, I have no problems with him at all. He helps me with other things I don't come here for. He's gone the extra mile for me. Love the staff!

I've been here for about a year. My wife works for Mainline and she told me about Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim has sent me for therapy and it was working but now my shoulder is a bit worse. No problems with scheduling and the staff is really friendly, they're really nice here. Dr. Kim explains your results and X-rays, he's pretty good!

I heard about you guys through a co-worker. I've been traveling to Philly and I needed to find someone down here. I asked a co-worker and she recommended Dr. Kim. I've heard nothing but great things about Dr. Kim. I'm a new patient, I had no problems scheduling and make the appointment. I called two weeks ago and today worked for me but probably could have gotten in sooner but this time was best for me. The staff has been great since I walked in the door and they are really helping me try to get my records. So far its been great and Dr. Kim made me feel very comfortable.

I’ve seen him twice in 10 months and he’s quite rude, lacks any kind of compassion and when he walked into the exam room he never said hello or how can I help you today and referred to me as “a case” too difficult for him or his any of the 3 offices that are all doctors who specialize in pain management and I love my name change “a case”.

I wrote a review about a month ago about Dr. Phillip Kim and the care I had experienced. I am happy to report that I am still under his care and he truly never gives up hope, even when I have had my own doubts. I now have 2 medications in my pain pump and hopefully this will be the magic combination. Pain can be very stubborn and when it likes you it does not want to go away. They have no idea that Dr. Kim will fight them until it is gone from your body. Be patient & allow him to be Boss.

After surgery a month ago to replace a Medtronic pump. I was walking into his office two weeks later for the first time without my wheelchair. He gave me my life back. Still recovering but after a 4yr wait to find a doctor who I trusted to do it, I am so grateful it was him. Helped me get off all the pills and is helping me control what I can with natural ways to reduce inflammation internally. He's a no nonsense doctor. Tells you exactly what's needed and not.

Love Dr. Kim however, his office staff leaves alot to be desired. For the fourth time today, I showed up for my appointment and my appointment wasn't on the schedule. I have learned to take my appointment card with me to show that I was really scheduled for the appointment. The staff has up to 48 hours to return your call and rarely have I received a return call. I showed up for surgery and couldn't have it performed because the staff never returned my call to answer questions.

Dr. Kim came into office with an attitude to begin with. We instantly felt uneasy when he spoke to us as if we were waisting his time. We were there for a consult for wife's pain medicine mngmnt. (an elective appointment). He continues to compare her teeth lost to that of a Heroin Junky. Then he tells her that she cant possibly have pain in her back where she does. So when a question is posed to why the dr. is acting unprofessionally he states that my wife tested positive for Marijuana. QUACK!!
