Lacks empathy, not thorough, inflexible schedule
As someone who suffers from frequent migraines that impact my ability to operate on a day to day basis, I am looking for a doctor that is thorough in their approach and has empathy of the impact on a patients day to day life. I did not find Dr. Grable-Esposito to be either. It's been nearly a year since my first appointment and there has been no improvement in my condition and no help in how to alleviate the impact on my day life. I'll be finding another doctor.

Bring a book
Despite numerous text reminders to arrive 15 minutes before scheduled appointment, and completing online paperwork in advance to expedite the process, Dr was 45 minutes late for appointment. Since I arrived as requested 15 minutes early, that meant a one hour wait in the waiting room. The patient who was to follow me left, having to get back to the office.

Robotic and no eye contact
This doctor was hired by the WC Inc Co. to complete an IME of my case. She was rude and made noeye contact with me. She claimed several tests were conducted, the tests did not occur. The entire review lasted 25 minutes, she reported it as more than an hour in duration. She had the films & report from my most recent CT Scan, scans that clearly reported a significant issue that required surgical intervention. However, her medical opinion was maligning??? I've had two additional cervical spine surgeries because of one injury, a grand total of 4 cervical spine and 2 shoulder surgeries. As a result of these surgeries, i now have two neurological conditions to contend with. I am not looking to place blame, I am looking for a better quality of life. If you are looking for a doc with a bedside manner and a doctor to treat you as a person, not just the next name on her list, I suggest you find another neurologist.

Extremely POOR communication
I've visited Dr. Grable-Esposito for the same issue 5 or 6 times. Each the time the communication with the office staff has been horrendous. This last time it took 3 weeks to get the Doctor's order sent to the Imaging office and after the MRI was done it took an additional 3 weeks to get the results. Is this the Doctor or the office I don't know. Each and every time I deal with the office it's a nightmare. Dr. Grable-Esposito does spend a great deal of time with you and answers all of your questions but her office is beyond help.

Great Doctor and Compassionate Human Being
Dr. Grable-Esposito has admirable professional skills (well informed, organized and conscientious) along with a kind and collaborative “bed side manner.” She is an excellent listener/communicator, giving her full attention in a “no rushed atmosphere.” Remarkably, Dr. G-E personally came out to the waiting room and welcomed me to her practice (most send out a staff member). Also impressive, she conducted several tests that I would have expected an assistant to perform; good practice to have a doctor perform tests firsthand instead of reading someone else’s findings. In preparation for my next appointment, Dr. G-E’s professional curiosity had led her to order a litany of tests to discover/eliminate possible additional underlying causes for my neuropathy; she also asked for access to my medical history (granted via my ProHealth portal). I highly recommend Dr. G-E, trust her judgement implicitly and look forward to seeing her again.

Very Impressive Doctor
This review is based on my many experiences with healthcare professionals. My recent medical issue required an immediate intervention with a neurologist. Dr. GE agreed to see me immediately. After an hour of going over my issue, explaining why she was very concerned, ordered an immediate MRI. Unfortunately, and prior to the MRI, my condition declined and without hesitation Dr. GE immediately admitted me to the Hartford Hospital Neurology Unit and facilitated my being seen and treated by a TEAM of neurologists. I was amazed how quickly she facilitated my care and treatment. She was very knowledgeable, engaged and communicated with me with no delays as you typically see with other Doctors. Great to be her patient.

Like a robot
Basically emotionless. Made me very uncomfortable and felt very dismissed. Got the sense she didn’t review my referral AT ALL. Had an EMG and she put a burning hot heating pad on my foot, never asked if it was comfortable, until I was like hey, this is pretty hot… my hairdresser has the sense to ask if water is too hot while washing my hair, you would think a doctor would give a hoot too! Office I went to is also dark and dreary. So maybe I would also be an emotionless robot if I worked there too. Terrible experience.

worst Dr on earth possibly
Not sure if it was Dr Gable...or just a random lady in the hall who decided to put on a white labcoat and a stethoscope and walk into my room, but this lady was emotionless about everything. She may be educated but she gives off a vibe of having no clue what she's talking about, I'm 33 years old she's by far the worst Dr in any field I've ever come in contact with. I'm not going to list all the problems I have with this nucklehead.. save your time and don't bother. go somewhere else. what a joke

I have never left a review for a doctor but had to after my experience this morning with this doctor. I feel so dismissed from this doctor! I do not think i have ever met such an uncaring, cold mannered doctor. I can only describe her bedside manner as Horrible. She had absolutely no compassion for my health concerns. I was asked to fill out a questionnaire before hand that listed all of my neurological issues that were currently going on, She advised me she had no idea what was wrong with me as my hands tremble and I could not walk toe to toe due to being off balance and she said....I don't know what is wrong with you? Now obviously something is wrong, why would I have made an appointment to see a Neurologist? That is not a specialist you see everyday.

We waited months to get to see Dr Grable-Esposito. She had my daughter answer questions and physical tests, which were very hard for her to do. She asked a lot of questions and required extra paperwork. We spent quite of bit of time while she was typing for her to end up deciding my daughter’s epilepsy (which it has never been called before) was too complicated. That she only takes care of people who’s medication is pretty much all set. She doesn’t prescribe new medications or multiple medications.

Dr G-E misdiagnosed me as not having a concussion because I didn’t lose consciousness or hit my head. I’ve since went to Gaylord (concussion) specialty where a more thorough exam identified a concussion-induced injury in my brain that effects eye-brain communication and I’m starting intensive rehab at Sight sensory rehabilitation center. Sight said my issues are definitely caused by a concussion. Receptionist seemed judgemental about my need to wear sunglasses in their brightly lit reception area.

Dr Grable-Esposito is great. Her staff, however, isn't. I started going 2 years ago for chronic migraines. First yr everything was great. Botox inj ok'd & scheduled, it helped! Last yr I went for an apt & was waiting for ok from my ins for botox inj- never heard back. Figured it was denied. Called several times- no call back. By the time I heard back her assistant said - you were approved but the approval is expired. I start the process over - ins denied. Now I call and nobody calls me back :(

Terrible experience with Dr. Grable-Esposito and her staff in Bloomfield. 30 minutes of waiting time at the appointment. I was diagnosed with silent migraines causing me motion sickness. I was even prescribed an anti-depressive. Didn't help at all. Visited other doctors, turned out my problem was related to the nerves in my neck due to night teeth grinding. She didn't even suspect that. Her staff was supposed to schedule a MRI for me. I had to do schedule it myself after 2 weeks. Don't go there.
