Dr. Polina Kuprien, MD

Dr. Kuprien repeatedly cancelled appointments for me, making me wait months to receive care for my diagnosed chronic illness. She did not listen to me when I was experiencing extreme symptoms. She was reluctant to give me the medication I've been on for over 10 years and my condition worsened for nearly 2 years. I was finally able to see a specialist who listened and was able to treat my symptoms within one visit. When asking for a referral for mental health services, she suggested I visit a nutrition counselor instead to focus on losing weight- THEN billed me for a mental health evaluation. Appointments with her last about 10 minutes before she rushes you out and barely notes your concerns. Switching doctors was the best call for my mental and physical health....

Dr. Pilyuyko did not make me feel comfortable, used strange terms to describe things (to the point I was confused what we were talking about) and I felt like I wasn't being heard about my concerns or needs. She had me return for a procedure that could have been done during the first appointment without warning me of the extra charges that would ensue and without working with me to talk to my insurance about those charges. I ended up being personally charged for something that my insurance would have covered had the office labelled the terms of the visit correctly. After calling back and forth between Advocate's billing and the doctor's offices for months, I was told there was nothing they could do for me and would have to pay entirely for the visit. Also, the waiting room at Advocate is crowded and loud, as well as feeling unprivate and like you're in a movie theater lobby or something.

Amazing doctor. Asks lots of questions and takes the time to listen to your questions and concerns.

She's great. Has a really good holistic approach. Catches things that other primary doctors in the past have missed / just pill pushed.

Diagnosed and followed up on the root cause linked to a variety of issues.
