I was brought to Banner Sun City by ambulance for a suspected seizure on 5/23/22. I was rolled into the inner hallway and left there until I asked what was going on (approx. 1 hr). I was told they were working on it. Same thing after another hour. Another inquiry and they told me they were waiting from a call from Mesa before they could bring me to a room. (Please check on this!) I saw other patients on stretchers with pillows.I asked the nurse if I could have one. She said in a very surly tone, "I don't have one on me!" I said, "I can see that. Can you find one? She then walked about 15 feet down the hall to the closet and brought it. "Never brought to a treatment or observation room (they billed $1,805 for this lie)! Finally brought to my room. It may have been 1.5 hours. My memory was fuzzy then. Given blood test/vitals. Asked for a pain reliever. No response. By the way, not one time during my entire stay (approx 20 hrs) did a nurse or doctor ask me how I was doing! But they were very careful to get my Social Security info so they'd get paid. Approx 2 hrs later a nurse came in stating she needed to draw more blood. I asked to see the results from the last one. She said she'd check and never came back. About an hr later a different nurse came to draw blood. Same thing, I asked for results from the last one. She left and came back. She went over the results and stated nothing was out of the ordinary. (They bill Medicare $1,396 for blood tests so I can see why they try to take a lot.) Tried to call nurse with button. No response. Try again in approx 35 mins, no response, again, same thing, nurse came. I asked about the pain killer. "We're trying to get permission from a doctor." She left and never asked how I was doing. Approx 2 hrs later a nurse came to take my vitals again. I asked if a dcoctor was coming. She said they'd try to get one. Repeat this cycle of calling on button, no response for a long time, rude nurse acts like she's busy and you're bothering her, says she is checking on the pain reliever and doctor. No question as to how I'm doing! Never!! It got dark and I fell asleep. A woman woke me up and asked me to sign 3 papers. I was drowsy and asked what they were for. "Standard stuff." I can't remember if I signed. Finally a doctor came and he was nice. I asked him when I could leave and he guaranteed about 2-3 hours. He said they just needed the go ahead from the missing neurologist. He asked a few questions and left. Some time later a nurse came in and gave me 3 ibuprofin from a commercial bottle. (I think they had sent someone to a pharmacy finally. They billed $178.70) I spent a pretty rough night because they had left a stent in my arm and patches on my chest. A woman brought a breakfast tray. A different woman came in asking me to sign papers again. This time I was awake and I asked her what for? Two made sense and I signed. One was a request for permission to pass my info on to third parties (I didn't sign that.) I think the other had to do with insurance (they want to make sure they're paid.) Then came another very very long cycle of my being ignored and requesting info on when I'd be released. I was told repeatedly they needed the neurologist to sign off and they were trying to find one. I never saw one. I asked if I could be released. They said it would be AMA (against medical advice) and informed me that would effect what I was reimbursed for and how it would affect future visits. In essence they coerced me to stay until they could find the neurologist that was missing in action. After many terrible hours they got someone to allow me to be released. Before leaving, on their form I wrote out a description of these events. It was in pencil and about a page long. The nurse at the desk said she'd put it in my file. (I doubt that happened.) I wanted somebody to apologize or at least acknowledge that the system had messed up. I still want that. I was finally released. I will say some of this may be fuzzy or I had a headache. But this account is the best I can do at this point. I got a bill that charged me and Medicare $11,460.70. I'm upset that some of that is untrue and a lot is exorbitant.

Dr. Reddy was the treating neurologist at the hospital where my wife went for seizures. Two days of observation later, he had no actual diagnosis. He was almost invisible, barely making any attempt to find out what was going on, even as my wife had her third seizure. One of those seizures occurred right in front of him. We left the hospital with no better understanding of what is triggering her seizures, and no guidance as to how they could be treated in the future. He is worthless as a doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Reddy for a few years for migraine headaches and a mild brain injury from a car accident. I would highly recommend him, he listened to my entire discription of symptoms and broke it down into a treatment plan, he did not dismiss symptoms as some physicians do. He listens and advocates for patient needs, it started with me with Dr. Reddy and there are not that many physicians like that out there anymore.
