Dr. Prathap Simhadri, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Simhadri for years. He's a great listener, he's calm, doesn't rush me, and makes sure I understand what he wants me to do. Unlike many doctors I've seen, he doesn't bark at me or read through folders while I'm talking. Having a doctor who makes me feel seen and heard is important to me, and this man is that sort of doctor.

Since I have been under Dr Simhadris' care I have been able to control and regress my kidney disease going from a CKD3 to CKD2 in one year. He has helped me understand my disease and take control of it. I am fortunate to be under his care

I’ve been under the care of a Nephrologist since 2015 due to Stage 3 kidney failure that is now at Stage 4. My kidney failure is the result of two occurrences of bladder cancer with associated treatments and the replacement of the bladder with a neobladder using a section of the small intestine.In October 2021, I moved from Massachusetts to Florida and came to be in the care of Dr. Prathap Kumar Simhadri at AdventHealth Medical, Daytona Beach. I have the highest regard for his professionalism, knowledge and caring approach to my wellbeing. He has spent significant time to learn my kidney history prior to being in his care and incorporated that history into his treatment plan. Each visit with him is an open and informative discussion of both blood and urine analysis with my kidney failure well under control due to the care that he has provided.Having just turned 70, I look forward to years of continued treatment from Dr. Simhadri and recommend him.

Just the fact that he is my kidney Dr is a blessing . I can’t imagine this journey without him by my side .

Dr. Simhadri is excellent! He is thorough, thoughtful, kind & extremely well trained. He read all my test results, asked questions to fill in any blanks, gave excellent suggestions to help me navigate a low potassium lifestyle, but most of all he gave me hope that we would find answers. He called me within 15 minutes of getting blood work results & put my mind at ease. He is personable & pleasant to deal with as is his staff. I highly recommend him & his entire staff

Dr. Simhadri is excellent! I am an ESRD patient with unusual additional comorbidities. He visits me (and his other patients) at the dialysis clinic at least once a week, and spends as long as it takes to answer questions. It's important that I understand my condition in order to manage it, and he's done everything he can to educate me. I can see now that at the outset I really didn't listen; dialysis and new health regimes were overwhelming. But he's persisted, showing far more patience than I could ever hope to dredge up! I'm now beginning to find some of the confidence I need in my ability to manage my condition. And I have the utmost confidence in him as a clinician. I'm so glad to have found a nephrologist who's not just skilled, but is also a thoroughly decent human being!
