Unprofessional office
I had an appointment with Dr. Patel last month. The waiting room was completely packed like the DMV, and they left me waiting far past my appointment time. When it finally came time, I was taken back, and it felt like the DMV - dark, dingy, and so many workers talking to each other while shuffling people in and out like a factory. The doctor came in, checked me quickly and said he was prescribing something and I would be contacted. It's now well over 2 weeks later, and after 7 follow-up calls, they have yet to get my prescription submitted. I'm scheduled for a follow-up in a few weeks to see if the prescription (which they still haven't submitted) worked, but I will likely cancel and find another doctor.

Doesn't care about patients
This office is one of the worse experiences I've ever had with any type of medical establishment and I did over 20 years in the military. So unprofessional and rude. Waited to have a procedure done for over 2 hours. I feel asleep in the back and when I woke up they were closed. Dr Patel didn't even apologize or speak with me. His office called and asked if I could come in a hour early. Which was an inconvenience for me and my family. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. Especially the military community.

Avoid this Dr at all costs.
Drs today clearly have forgotten the “oath” they take to “do no harm”. We’ve seen this the past few years especially. I would steer clear from this Dr. Cancer was detected over 4 months ago by Dr P. He had the labs for months and his office was aware that the situation needed immediate attention. The patient waited in anguish for over 2 months with the diagnosis on the mind and couldn’t get anyone in this office to respond. Finally they set an appointment to take out the surgery using a “robot”. While waiting to hear a response from this negligent office about her treatment, patient sought other help. Thank God patient found another Dr who immediately found unique circumstances in which patient needed actual surgeons, (2 of them operated) not a robot, to go in and get the cancer out. All it took were a few questions about patients past health history to find out a robot couldn’t possibly remove what was there. If you value your life, do not give this Dr your time.

Had 03 appointments with Dr. Patel, barely spoke with him on the first, didn't see him on the second because his assistant did the bladder volume exame; on the 3rd had a cystoscopy, and if wasn't for me calling him back to get an explanation of what just happened, would had heard from him; on what was to bethe follow up to the cystoscopy, his office overbooked or he was late, but I had to leave to work. When I enquired about what would have happened if I was 30 minutes late to the appointment, they told be that the appointment would have been canceled and rescheduled but I would have still been charged for said appointment. Is it to much to ask to be treated with the same kind of respect?

If I could give Dr Patel higher marks I would. He has a knowledge and skill base that is un-matched. He also has a staff with the same. My kidney was damaged from a failed back surgery from an injury at work and Dr Patel found the issue when others couldn’t. He fought the Insurance company when they denied the claim for me. Then very smartly he repaired and saved my kidney when it was only working at 9%. Dr Patel and his staff are fantastic people that truly care about you and not the insurance company. He came highly recommended to me within the medical community. Other Doctors in his field talk highly of him. My daughter is a key player in heart health at PCH and he was recommended by the doctors there. You can trust this man and his staff with your life, I did.

I was referred to Dr. Patel for removal of a cyst on my kidney that was blocking a ureter. Dr. Patel said surgery was the preferred method of treating these cysts because needle aspiration has a 50% recurrence rate. I went through the very painful surgery, and after recovery the CT scan showed the cyst was still there, just slightly smaller. WTH! Even more maddening is he KNEW he had not taken out the cyst and did not tell me until I looked at the CT scan disk myself! This is like a mother with twins getting a C-section, and they only take out one baby. Now I have to be monitored periodically for the rest of my life, and may require another procedure. Give him a complete FAIL. I would not let this guy trim my toenails. Big question is, should I sue?

My father was recently operated on by Dr. Patel. It was a major prostate procedure with 2 months of pain, immobility, and complications leading up to the date of surgery. Just prior to the scheduled date, he was found to have a blood infection that would require additional time to rectify. Dr. Patel had an overseas vacation looming. Rather than leave my dad wait another 2-3 weeks for the surgery in miserable shape, Dr. Patel squeezed him in on a Saturday just prior to his travel date. Not something he had to do. Not something most doctors would do. This man did it. After 5 weeks of recovery, the surgery has yielded incredible results. Dr. Patel is a master of his craft. He extends life and improves quality of life. He turns misery and uncertainty into happiness, relief, and wellness. Anyone in need of Urologic help should only be so lucky to be on the receiving end of his care.

Dr Patel performed my surgery with no complications but his staff and office is the poorest I have ever seen. The level of frustration in dealing with them is horrible. I waited 25 mins on hold for an apt. and then was disconnected and dialed again and was on hold for 10 more min. and after finally getting a live person was put on hold again. They are the only ones In Network with my insurance so I feel trapped.

Dr. Patel performed a problem-free radical robotic prostatectomy after months of 'watchful waiting' for a 'moderately aggressive' cancer. He is not only a highly skilled physician, but also possesses an excellent 'bedside manner' and great compassion.

Dr. Patel did a surgical procedure that went horribly wrong. I found him completely unsympathetic and uncaring. After reviewing his procedure with another physician I found his way was completely antiquated. I would not recommend this doctor, I'm still suffering from his lack of knowledge and skill.

I found him to be a very skilled and compassionate physician. My first impression was that he might be brusque, but as I continued to see him (and his assistants) they were anything BUT brusque. He is right up-to-date in his field as were the other specialists he referred me to.

I like Dr Patel. His office, and trying to talk to somebody is almost impossible. I have just spent over an hour trying to get a person to talk to and end up getting an answer machine. Its very frustrating. I spoke with a medical tech and after 4 calls to Kerry I never got the prescription I needed finished. I am still trying to get a prescription fulfilled

When you get past the front office and phone system and actually meet with Doctor Patel and his medical assistants, it is a good experience. The front office staff is hit and miss. Most people seeing a urologist probably have some significant issues, the front office needs to show some compassion.. they have little or none.
