Professional and Personable
Wasn't looking forward to my first colonoscopy. The team at Midwest Endoscopy made it as positive as possible. They allowed me to do a 'Gatorade Prep' that was not bad. The actual procedure was routine/no big deal as they used a mild sedative and I slept through it. Only complaint I had is they woke me up from the great nap I was taking! Dr. Mettu went over the results with me. He was personable and professional. Strongly recommend - which is NOT what I thought I would be typing about a colonocsopy!

Dr. Mettu changed my life. I had spent the majority of my life suffering from Celiac disease (unknowingly) and horrid IBS. Dr. Mettu stood by my side throughout the entire process. The other reviews couldn’t be further from the truth; Dr. Mettu’s bedside manner is amazing and I truly felt that he wanted me to improve. He is responsive and very caring…. Even after several ER trips communication was immediate. After a year-long journey of battling with celiac and IBS, I'm typing this with a huge smile. I can finally be a normal 26 year old, no more worries about not being near a restroom, no more lethargy. My confidence is the highest it has been, I’m newly engaged, and my life is no longer controlled by my stomach pain! If you are in search of an intelligent, charismatic, and proactive GI physician, you are in the right place!

Absolutely terrible!!! Doesn’t have good bedside manners, doesn’t order medicines timely when he claims he will order them right away, lacks very much in communication and calling with test results and frankly rude. He never determined what was wrong and he didn’t seem to care. Messages were left with front desk and several times no one called back. He recommended hypnosis and a diagnosis with treatment was needed, not hypnosis. Not a place to continue “treatment and evaluation”.

I would not recommend dr Mettu to my worst enemy. He took out 2 small polyps a big 1 he could't take out. I ask him y did it take you so long to call me and he said. I have been working 24/7 and have 2 kids at home and had to tell 2 patents they had cancer..So i went to another dr. he took the big one out no problem and found 3 more that Dr. Mettu missed. Why could this dr. take it out and no dr Mettu? DONT GO TO DR METTU. and i had to wait an hr. to get in the operating room.

Dr. Mettu is an exceptional physician. You can tell from speaking with him that he sincerely cares about you as a patient and is interested in treating you, not your disease. He has shown time and time again a willingness to go above and beyond his job description to do whatever he can to help. I could not recommend his care enough.
