Dr. Dugel is very well qualified. However, he is abrupt, curt, and does not answer questions well, and is very un-socialized. (Maybe he was raised by wolves?) If you can deal with that, according to my research he is one of the most qualified retinal specialists in Arizona. When he performed my surgery, my eyes were covered and I could not see him. He was so nice and re-assuring during the surgery, I was concerned that it was not Dr. Dugel performing the surgery.

I saw him for a follow up appt. (I didn’t like his young associate) for a vitreous hemorrhage, seemed competent but not overly personable. He said I should make another appointment in a week. So I did, & after a 40 minute drive & sitting for 20 minutes after my appt time I was called to the desk (because the computers were having issues) to cancel the rest of his appointments. I guess my hemorrhage wasn’t that important!?!

I feel very fortunate to be in the care of Dr. Dugel for my Wet Macular Degeneration. I see him monthly for injections in each eye, I credit him for saving my eyesight. He is an expert in his field.

Dr. Dugal came highly recommended...was a hugh disappointment.. Poor bedside manner and poor follow up; Dr. Dugal is like a robot. Would not listen to history of eye problems or any questions; MD held his hands up and said, "You will get my results in two days"; yes, in 2 days a clerical staff phoned and read his results...though not all results. Poor customer service....though the office has all of the newest technology. I will not be back or recommend Dr. Dugal...despite all of the credentials
