Dr. Pravina Sheth, MD

Not sure what I expected but this wasn’t it. I got the impression that she thought I was just faking. I told her that sometimes I do not sleep for 24 to 48 hours (which is not normal) and she said well that happens. I talked about crippling anxiety attacks and she blew it off. Read the notes on MyChart and I was furious. She basically just said I need sleep meds. There were things in there that I absolutely did not say. Basically I was written off as a whiney snowflake because I am bi polar and need help.

My visit started when she walked in the waiting room and asked 'who is new' she couldn't be bothered to say my name so I would know she was looking for me?! She asked me questions to fill out my patient history and almost every time I spoke she made me repeat myself. She insulted me about my mother homeschooling me, and about my weight. She was disinterested in my concerns and did not listen to anything I had to say about them. Only the conditions which I was already diagnosed with, which are well managed and I do not need her assistance with. I don't feel like this dr is in the right field, people who are seeking psychiatric help need patience and understanding and to be heard. Not to be insulted and put down.

After my first appointment with Dr. Sheth in February 2024 it was quite obvious to me that her deliberate lack of concern for my well being forced me to seek care options elsewhere. As expected my general practitioner was more than willing to continue to prescribe to me the same beneficial medication which I have been taking successfully for over 10 years, the same medication that Dr. Sheth was intent on stopping altogether without compromise just because it happens to be a controlled substance (this is what she told me). My question for Dr. Sheth would be, 'If it's not broken then why fix it?' I would avoid Dr. Sheth at all costs if I were you. She herself should be a controlled substance!
