Best doctor ever
Dr. Brar has been treating my son and myself for the past 6 years. He has been treating my son's ADHD and my ADHD and depression, anxiety. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind and listens. I have worked in healthcare as a nurse practitioner and nurse for 35 years. He is cautious about the meds he prescribes and stays up to date. He has a remarkable understanding of the brain and mood disorders. Of course he's not a therapist or psychologist so do not expect long appointments where you tell him all about your problems. I don't know what we would do without him. He's brilliant.

I saw Dr. Brar for about 4 years. Before COVID all visits were in person and only lasted 5-10 minutes. During and after COVID he started offering virtual visits. The virtual visits were even shorter than the in-person visits, which was fine because at least I wasn't driving across town to talk to someone for 5 minutes. Virtual visits were less than 5 minutes. He is great if you need a prescription for anything quickly because he asks minimal basic questions and lets you pretty much diagnose yourself. His staff is extremely rude and do not care about his patients at all. Being that their main job is to answer the phones and speak directly to patients, you would think they would be better with customer service. Unfortunately, their horrible attitudes and rude demeanors contribute to a patients experience as well. Save yourself the time and money and go to a psychiatrist who actually takes the time to speak with you and diagnose your problems instead of just using you for a paycheck.

Dr. Brar has been treating my 2 children for ADHD and ODD for 10 years and I find him to be remarkably engaging with them, conservative with medications, and thorough when evaluating them for efficacy and side effects. I’m particularly happy that he is conservative in dosing and adding medications and wants my children functional not drugged out. He always makes himself available to us if we need anything and his staff is always happy and welcoming. I would highly recommend him if you have children and/or adolescents needing help in any psychiatric treatment.

My first visit I got emotional. He put his pen down and told me that he was here now to help me. I'll never forget how comforting that was and I tell everyone about him.

Dr. Brar is amazing with my son. Compared to my son's previous doctor, who didn't seem to really care what was going on, or try to connect with my son, Dr. Brar showed a genuine concern for my son and treated him like a family member. He has built a trusting and relaxed relationship with my son that makes my son feel comfortable enough to open up to him, which doctors couldn't do. Dr. Brar is wonderful and I would definitely recommend him to any of my close friends.

Dr. Brar is extremely professional and has taken excellent care of me since I moved to Charlotte. He is no-nonsense, which may turn off some people, but I really appreciate his direct and clear communication. He shows that he cares, without being overly touchy feely. I am very thankful I found him, as he has greatly helped me improve my mental health.

Find someone else or go without...a bad experience, almost unethicaI. I saw him for 2 years for depression + anxiety. Eventually downs became "something to just deal with." Insurance stopped covering a Rx and the replacement was not fully explained. Then I had bad side effects and they would not return calls - took 2 days to get new Rx. When the refill ran out they insisted it was impossible. Again could not reach dr and they would not return calls. Went 2 days past, thankfully Target loaned 2.
