Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner, MD

I can't remember a time when one visit was better than the others. I had my mind set on a different surgeon since 2007 but when I met Dr. Bluebond-Langner in 2022 I knew I found the best. Yes, she's no nonsense, and yes, she's serious, but she's also kind and compassionate and she listens. She has made a career of using her talents to help the trans community. What more is there to say. She and the team go above and beyond for each of their patients and there was never a time I felt my concerns were not addressed. I am so grateful I listened to someone when they recommended her to me. Thanks again to Dr. Bluebond-Langner and team for all that you've done for me.

Dr Bluebond Langner is NOT transphobic as a transman who’s done all my surgeries with her I can assure you. Shes a surgeon, which means her bedside manners needs some work but she makes sure you’re healing as needed, her work is on point. The best way to describe her is she’s a realist with you, she will tell you AND show you what to expect from her and she will not stray away from what she knows. Her results are currently some of the best around. What I saw in her book is EXACTLY what I got. Her results are amazing and when it comes to a complex surgery like rff, to get these results without a doubt it is truly an honor to have her as my surgeon. The whole team at NYU were kind with the exception of one person I complained about and it was taken care of. If you want a surgeon to baby you and give you hopes on something that they’re not sure about doing she’s not the one to go to. However if you want an average size, full sensation and aesthetically pleasing she’s your doctor.

if I could give this woman less than one star I would. she's just another cis yt woman profiting off of trans folks dysphoria, and I URGE folks to try ANYONE else before.she may be the best at what she does, but she has NO CARE for the trans community's needs.I requested a second consultation after waiting A YEAR for my first one because I wasn't sure if she understood what I needed.upon going to that consultation, which was a video chat. Rachel Bluebond-transphobic-lagner DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP ON CAMERA!and I know what you're thinking-- maybe it wasn't booked with her. it was booked under her equally awful urologists name, and I called the office twice beforehand to check that she'd be there and both times they assured me she would be.I told them my vision and what her urologist said was: we can recommend you a doctor IN TEXAS that can do what you want. he's reputable and great-- and one day we will likely offer the same services, but we WILL NOT do that for you. no matter how

I have an intersex condition, the I in LGBTQ(I). Had little knowledge of my situation other than I’m intersex and desire a revision from the surgery I had as a child since I now have complications. Receptionist: “Oh she said that’s something she doesn’t see”. She only sees people patients born into a binary body which is fine but it limits her practice and leaves a lot of others who need help with no where to go. Unfortunately it probably means her surgical skills are limited if she is only does genital reconstruction limited populations & is hesitant about revisions. Also- the publications she has written, if intersex people are involved they are referred to as DSD (Disorders of Sexual Development) which is outdated and offensive. I’ll be sure to recommend to other intersex people I know that she is NOT an ally to the intersex community

Dr. Bluebond-Langner is the best around. Full stop. Her team is kind, compassionate, organized, professional, and above all high, high quality. I've had 3 surgeries with Dr. Bluebond-Langner, all with fabulous success. I had vaginoplasty, breast augmentation, and body contouring. I refuse to go to anyone else as she is the top notch in her field. She is leading the way in gender affirming surgery and I encourage any trans person seeking medical transition to get yourself an appointment with Dr. Bluebond-Langner. All of Dr. Rachel's staff are absolutely 100% enthusiastic and respectful. They care about the patients that are seen, do what they can and answer at the best of their knowledge. Dr. Rachel went through everything, took her time to educate me, was very down-to-earth as well as respectful. Kudos to University of Maryland. All of you are amazing.
