Lacks empathy and bedside manner
I had a deeply upsetting experience with Dr. Rachel Gibbs. I had seen her for years without issue, but my recent IUD procedure was traumatizing. Before the procedure, I expressed frustration over a lack of communication from her team. Instead of acknowledging my concerns, she became defensive. I started crying, yet she proceeded without pause. As the procedure began, my body panicked—I was crying, yelling in pain, and overwhelmed. She never stopped to check on me. Afterward, she told me to lie on my side and left without acknowledging my distress. When I left, she avoided eye contact. This experience left me with lasting trauma—now, gynecological exams trigger panic. Dr. Gibbs’ lack of empathy and bedside manner made me feel like a task, not a person. I would not recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate care.

New patients beware.
I did not have a good experience with Dr. Gibbs. After reading all of the horrifying reviews I’m so glad I didn’t get the hysterectomy she insisted was my only option.

Botched Hysterectomy
She cut my aorta during my hysterectomy, causing me to be in the hospital for 9 days instead of the standard outpatient procedure. Could’ve at leave apologized for the incident. I now have a long ugly scar from my pelvic bone to my lower rib cage. Would not recommend. Do not regret the procedure, just who did it.

I’d recommend over and over again!
I cannot express how grateful I am with Dr. Gibbs! I suffered 3 missed miscarriages after two previous unexpected pregnancies/live births. I went to 6 OBGYNs (Warren Clinic, Utica, and Tulsa Women’s Health) and MCRM fertility clinic before a friend recommended Dr. Gibbs. All the previous doctors would order many labs and ultrasounds with & without contrast and end the visit by saying “Everything is normal, your recurrent miscarriages were just coincidences, try again”. I had to have D&Cs with each miscarriage and I was at the point of giving up just to avoid another loss.Dr. Gibbs sat down and went through my history with me, examined and ordered labs. At my follow up/2nd visit, all the labs were again normal yet she sat down and reviewed my history again with me. She suggested endometriosis might be a possibility and that a laparoscopic surgery would diagnose it. If found, she’d remove it and also check tubes to make sure everything is normal. She found stage 4 endometriosis! It took

Dr. would not listen to the issue and kept trying to prescribe medication that was for something different and not needed. Had to actually report the issue. Patient suffered because lack of empathy towards a patient. Would not recommend.

I never do this, but my experience was horrible. I blame myself for not seeking a second opinion. She was very uncaring, i was sick from the moment the procedure was finished. I went to see her for excessive throwing up and being unable to use the bathroom. One of her nurses was talking about infection, she told her something about putting this silver stuff on it. The nurses facial expression made me feel very uneasy, so my son and i decided to just go to ER. I ended up having emergency surgery less than 3 hours after i arrived. Since the surgery, i have been having issues with one side of my body being larger than the other. Staff members could not believe i had actually been to see her that day, and was simply sent home. That was the first time i ever felt like i was being treated my someone who felt my life had absolutely no value.

It took me years to find this doctor. I moved to Tulsa 13 years ago and went from doctor to doctor because I never found someone that seemed dedicated to pure biology and science. I have had several doctors pressure me with their religious or birthing values which I realize is valuable to some, it just is not a priority for me. This doctor is no frills, she is informative, concise, and honest. If she needs to do a test or have her office call in about medication for you, this team does it and fast. You can tell she is busy and if you are an outsider to the health industry, you may not know that because of how healthcare works in America, this is not the doctors fault. They are under enormous pressure to meet patient levels that are almost incomprehensible. We have a shortage of doctors and especially specialists in Oklahoma. Every time I see Dr Gibbs she is exactly what we should expect from someone in medicine. She is polite, not overly indulgent in unnecessary conversation, and get

Dr. Gibbs was very proficient and knowledgeable. She caught my illness that no one has caught in the decade before. She can sometimes be lacking in her bedside manner, but her competence and aggressiveness in fixing the issue was welcomed and reassuring and made up for her bluntness.

Dr. Gibbs seems friendly and personable However, she was very quick to strongly recommend a radical hysterectomy, so I sought a second opinion and was told it was not warranted at this time. My RN sister with 40+ years of experience agreed. Six months later my PAP has come back normal. My current OBGYN wants another in six months because he would like to see two in a row come back normal. I am much more comfortable with a less aggressive, but cautious approach to surgery.

Reading reviews for Dr. Gibbs and I honestly felt torn about going to see her. She is pretty straight forward, she didn't offer a lot of information, but all the questions i had, she did answer. i I am 34 and have no children, but i do want some. She told me that i needed to get a robotic myomectomy to remove two fibroids. She told me there were concerns of endometriosis and said she would check while i was under. I had a total of 6 fibroids removed. I really liked her no nonsense approach.

Dr. L. Rachel Gibbs has been my oldest daughter's gynecologist for almost 20 years. I have been a patient, my youngest daughter has been a patient and my niece has also been a patient of Dr. Gibbs. We have always been treated with the utmost respect and received the best medical treatment when obtaining services with Dr. Gibbs. I have moved to Florida and now will have to seek another doctor to provide the services I need. I only hope is that I can find someone as knowledgeable and skilled.

Horrible horrible experience! She was in and out in 3 minutes. Ended up telling me I was gg to get a full hysterectomy and that my cervix was even enlarged. Had no peace so went and got a second opinion, found out my cervix isn't enlarged but completely healthy and I did not even need a hysterectomy. Praise God for the leading of the holy spirit! Dr. Gibbs should have her medical license removed!

After my previous OBGYN retired several years ago, I had a difficult time finding a doctor I connected with that listened to my concerns and help me take action to resolve them. Dr. Gibbs has been the one doctor that I have seen that I felt comfortable being frank with, and her treatment plan for my women's health issues were decisive and effective. I'm so glad to have finally found an OBGYN I know I will stick with for years to come.
