Dr. Rachel Kassel, MD

I was deeply disappointed by my experience with this doctor. She came across as judgmental and rude, and consistently avoided answering my questions. Her demeanor was dismissive and, frankly, disheartening. It’s unfortunate that someone with such a lack of empathy and respect is working in a field that requires understanding and compassion, especially when dealing with children. I would not recommend her to anyone seeking a caring and supportive healthcare experience.

I don't have anything good to say about her. She told my wife my son will not amount to anything in live and will be a vegetable for the rest of his life. She is very rude, no respect to patient and family members. Not worth your time seeing this Doctor. If Children's of AL let her go I think I'll throw a party.

Dr. Kassel SHOULD NOT be working with children. She very well may be a good gastro, but pediatrics is not where she should be. She asks for the parents to explain the child’s condition and the reason for the visit but doesn’t listen. She doesn’t treat each patient as a case by case. She’s untrustworthy, rude, dismissive and she’s an over talker. She doesn’t try to get to the cause of the problem or issue because she’s too busy trying to push her own agenda, which is you’re a bad parent. Please avoid at all costs. I wouldn’t let her treat dog if she was the last Dr. on earth. You will end up feeling as though you have to defend your parenting and protect your child from her. Literally the worst Dr. I’ve ever met.

Met my child for the first time and used words like “failure to thrive” to describe him although his weight and growth were above the expected chart and his other team of doctors (8) had never used such a phrase to describe him. Very dismissive to all of my thoughts and suggestions. Very much treated us like something from her medical books, not as an individual patient. Parents do yourself a favor and ask for ANY other doctor from GI @ children’s of Alabama. We really like Dr.Dimmit.

Rude. Dismissive. Interrupting. Made me want to cry.

Very rude, loud, combative, and has no respect towards the child being in the room.
