Dr. Rachelle Meaux, MD

Dr. Meaux does not see OB patients, which is wonderful if you only need GYN care. The waiting room is quiet and I was seen within 5-10 minutes of my appointment time. The staff is very small, so Dr. Meaux personally took my weight, bp, and medical history. Exam was gentle and she thoroughly explained every step. She called me personally to discuss my test results and next steps. Highly recommend if you're looking for personalized care without the insane wait times of an OB/Gyn clinic.

After 33 years on my hormone she let me go 8 days without it..said I would be just fine. Without it my blood pressure raised high..messed up my INR levels and other complications..to many to list..I know 2 other women who now sees another dr..thank God I switched Drs..no compassion…been with her 13 years but now I’m free with a caring dr

Terrible OB experience.

Loved Dr. Meaux! She was my gyno and then OB. She really takes care of her patients and makes sure they are aware of all outcomes/possibilities. Also love that she’s doesn’t coddle her patients and that she’s straight and to the point. So glad she was on call when we went in to labor.

Dr. Meaux was my attending physician 18 years ago. I told her at the first visit that it was not a planned pregnancy and my husband and I had no desire for more children. She was totally dismissive of my birth plan and very cold to me. After the birth I asked two more times for a tubal ligation. She shamed me and tried to scare me. Only after those tactics didn't work she explained how rough reversals could be. I got my tubal 4 years later in the military and never looked back.

I would of given 0 stars, but had to choose 1. I have been seeing Dr. Meaux for close to 20 years. Recently had some major health issues. She blew me off. Telling me the symptoms I were having weren’t related. Went to another Dr, who listened, and did blood work and found that my issues were real and of great concern. To say the least I will not be seeing her anymore ! She lost a gem when her NP left. She cared !

Horrible cust service in the office. I advise her multiple times of my major back problems& all she kept saying is that is normal being I was pregnant. She ignored the issue& when i would call in to advise her of it her staff would always tell me she would call me bk but she never would and then I receive a letter stating she wouldn't be my primary physician to deliver my baby due to "harassment" toward the staff when I was calling in.i would never recommend Dr. Meaux.worse Dr to deliver a baby

Told the doctor I wanted to try for a natural birth. When I decided to get medication to help with the pain she didn’t have it on my chart, so I couldn’t get anything before she approved it. She was the doctor on call at the hospital and didn’t answer her phone. The nurse told me she was at choir practice. Not a good experience for a first time mom. That is very irresponsible and unprofessional.

Her front desk staff is AWFUL. My last experience is more than this space will allow. Bottom line I have been a patient for over 15 years and was treated like nothing. Rude. Dismissed. No compassion whatsoever and did not care that I asked for my records after the unacceptable office visit. No apologies or attempt to care. They lost an asset when her NP Heather left. I'm giving this a 1 because I had to click a star. And...I had surgery with her. So my trust in this doctor and staff WAS there.

Dr. Meaux is extremely condescending, unfriendly, and downright rude. I used to pray that I would be able to see the NP, who is wonderful. Unfortunately, it was too late in my pregnancy to switch doctors. I had an infection and even after repeatedly explaining my symptoms, she was unconcerned, which eventually landed me in the hospital. Then, she went as far as to blame me for the infection. She is extremely belittling. I can honestly say she made my pregnancy miserable.

Office staff is friendly and helpful. NP is a great resource when Dr. Meaux is not available. Reasonable wait times, clean office. Started to visit her office after moving to Lafayette from out of state by recommendation of coworkers (nurses in an OR that have worked with Dr. Meaux) & have no complaints.

I have seen Dr. Meaux for many years. I have had two healthy baby boys delivered while under her care. I have always felt comfortable asking questions, and I have always felt that our health was a top priority.

When I first became pregnant, I was nervous because of reviews I had read. There was no reason to worry, because Dr. Meaux is an amazing Doctor. I ended up miscarrying at 10.5 weeks and I found her and her staff supportive, kind, caring and empathetic with what was happening. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a new OBGYN.

Very quick, answers questions. IF you are looking for a doctor to chat with about your life this is not your doctor. She is there to get the job done and that's what I like about her. I do not have a scar from my section. Amazing surgeon!!

She really listened to my concerns. She is a great doc and really is keen when it comes to Women's Issues.
