Dr. Radha Vanukuri, MD

Mom had a TIA and spent several days in the hospital. Dr. Vanukuri saw Mom every day and helped with the transition to palliative care. She was caring, attentive, and answered my questions.

I am currently in the hospital. I have MS. I’ve had it for 10 years so I know what works and what doesn’t. She stood in my room today and FOUGHT me about my treatment. I should up for myself and she says “well you can leave today”. Excuse me? She knows nothing about MS, she knows nothing about patient care, and she knows nothing about how to treat another human. No doctor should ever fight a patient when they stand up for themselves. The neuro consult came in and said that they had been fighting with Dr. Vanukuri the entire time I have been here. About my urine, my kidneys, my steroids, my MS, everything. She needs to leave the harder diseases to the doctors that spent the extra years training and learning about it. She’s a general hospitalist that doesn’t even know the basics of care. I am not sure how OSF still has her on staff. I have been crying and frustrated since I saw her today because she just railroaded me and told me to go home. The absolute worst care.

I was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia and placed in CCU in her care. I believe she was misleading and unprofessional. I feel she caused more harm to my health than good and given more time under her care I would have probably lost my life. I am suffering from PTSD due to her lack of care for my health. I think she should be monitored very closely. I DO NOT believe she should be the leading provider for COVID patients.
