I generally don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. I saw Dr. Dendi for issues related to dysautonomia and syncope, and unfortunately, I found him to be very dismissive of my concerns. He showed little compassion and seemed uninterested in truly listening. To make matters worse, my vitals were recorded incorrectly, leading to a 'negative workup' for a condition I had already been diagnosed with multiple times. This mistake caused further issues with other doctors who relied on his notes, making it even harder for me to get proper care. After sharing my experience, I’ve heard from multiple other patients who had similar or worse encounters with him. If you're seeking help for dysautonomia, syncope, or related conditions, I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time with this provider.

If you want to be gaslight, see this guy
s a disabling condition... if you want to see only people of very advanced age, say so, but quit gaslighting young vulnerable patients that are already dealing with enough doubt about conditions that are not well understood across multiple disciplines. SHAME ON YOU, Dr Dendi. You set back MY diagnosis and treatments by almost 8 years. I highly recommend KU Med make him take sensitivity training or volunteer time working with patients with long covid and POTS so he can see and understand first hand... although it sounds like he has built an unchangeable prejudice against young patients with blood pressure dysregulation issues- sounds like he's hopeless. Why did you become a doctor, Dendi? To help people or convince young women they are crazy because you cannot possibly be wrong? I hope you think of this review every time you look in a mirror for the rest of your life and I hope you understand the horrible and lasting harm you have caused (though I pray you did some good, saved lives).

I thought I had POTS
I had a tilt table done for some new syncopal episodes while I was at work. After my tilt table I was worried about having POTS but turned out it was just a vagal episode. Dr. Dendi explained this to me and the criteria for POTS which can be confusing. Thank you so much for helping me find out what was wrong.

Not an automatic dysfunction "expert"
Don't go to for any kind of Dysautonomia or suspected Dysautonomia. He told me I don't meet PoTS criteria but didn't explain why and also didn't bother to explain what my problem is/might be either. Just decided I don't have it so I'm fine. He then put me on a new heart med and said "see you in 6 months"....after saying I'm fine. I tried asking him about accommodations for nursing school for if/when I get presyncope flair ups and he told me "maybe you shouldn't have applied for such a program if you can't handle it" whe. I messaged him asking again and demanded he write it in my chart if he was still denying it he wrote me a letter 2 weeks later for the wrong diagnoses-orthostatic hypotension, after stating twice in my appointment note I don't have that. And I know I don't cause my BP is the only thing that stays good. He didn't address the random muscle weakness/collapsing I'm having either. Avoid him at all costs and go somewhere else if possible.

AVOID for POTS Testing
I have had a poor, indirect experience with this provider. Dr. Dendi wrote the report for my table tilt test, and it is the most useless report I have ever seen. I am a healthcare clinician who regularly writes clinical reports based on standardized assessments, so I am appalled that KU Med lets this fly. There was ZERO interpretation of my results, only my data and a statement that there is no evidence of POTS or orthostatic intolerance. I've shared my results with several other MDs with expertise in POTS and OI, and they are confused as to how Dr. Dendi reached his decision since I meet criteria for both given my TTT, and especially so in the absence of any reasoning in his report. I can attest that the cardiology MDs and staff at KU Med have consistently repeated the phrase, "the EPs are the experts in autonomic dysfunction". Makes me wonder if they have to defer to EPs for some administrative reason within this health system. The poor reviews here do not surprise me at all.

I have vasovagal syndrome and unfortunately had to transfer my care due to change of insurance. He was who was recommended because he allegedly specializes in autonomic disorders, such as POTS. He told me “everyone passes out” and that I did not need to follow up with cardiology because he sees sick patients. It was an absolute joke and waste of my time and he treated me as if there was nothing wrong with me when I have been followed by both neurology and cardiology for years to direct my care. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Had a similarly horrible experience as the previous poster seeing Dr. Dendi for POTS last year. He had no interest in actually helping me and was seriously misinformed about the condition. Tried to make an appointment with a different KU cardiologist to be treated and I got scheduled with him again because he is a "specialist" and apparently all POTS patients are funneled to him. Truly disturbing lack of care for POTS in the KU Health System.

Dr Dendi was arrogant and made me feel like my condition was not critical enough to be seen by him. I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and he has the nerve to tell me he has very sick patients to see. This was after waiting months to see him and over an hour the day of my appt. I will not return
