Dr. Ruiz is incompetent and dismissive
I was a patient of Dr. Ruiz for two years. I came to her with multiple issues including my concerns with how birth control was affecting me and auditory issues. For my birth control, she basically shrugged her shoulders, and did not talk me through my options or listen to my concerns. For my auditory issues, she literally looked at me and said, 'I don't know what to say about that.' I also went with her to address my chronic back pain which I have had for ten years. She took maybe twenty seconds to look at my back, and basically said 'Well, I don't see anything wrong.' I had to argue with her to get her to send me to a physical therapist. She does not take her patient's concerns seriously, and does not take more than 1 minute to think about the underlying issues they might be dealing with. Do not go to her for your medical care.

During a visit, she did a depression scale and I started crying. She then tried to push medication on me and I had to say no several times which made me get an annoyed tone. Then she tried to tone police me and tell me to calm down. A depressed person, after a depression screening who is crying...calm down. Apparently this doctor and the Hill company she works for have never heard of trauma informed care....but they proscribed mental health medication?

Dr. Ruiz was my doctor when she was with the Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center. She was one of the best doctors I've had. She is very attentive to the patient's needs. Dr. Ruiz listens and orders proper test to make a diagnosis. There's no need to convince her that your sick. Who wants to need to do those things when you're sick. I was disappointed when I found she was no longer with the Clinic. They lost a great physician.

I saw Dr. Ruiz at the Tiburcio Vasquez clinic in Hayward. I came to Dr. Ruiz with severe medical issues. She has been wonderful in taking care of me. She had to refer me to a number of specialists and follow up on my various appointments and tests.
