Dr. Rajantiben Patel, MD

I had a visit with Dr.Rita to establish primary care. I advised the appointment staff, I advised the nurse that took me back for my vitals and I advised the physician that I needed refills on medications that I have been on for years. Not only did she not refill any medications that I currently take and needed but the referral was to a counselor- unable to rx medication. So after arriving at the appointment that I have NEEDED, not only will I not get any medication, but it may be another month before I can get a referral to get medication. I explained to Dr. Patel that I have an established counselor that I see once a week. It appeared that the physician wasn’t listening then & is very evident now. Referrals to other Prisma physicians seems to be the goal here.

This doctor is reckless. Had appointment a month ago and prescriptions had never been sent in. I was told I was good for three months with my prescriptions This is not the first time but this is the last! I have no blood pressure medicine due to this issue and have not been feeling good. I guess my life means nothing. I pray to the good Lord someone ,somebody stops this Dr. from practicing who cannot do their job before someone dies! I apologize for this review but someone is going to die due to failure to get medicine prescribed. Please someone help and look into this.

I like Dr. R. Patel from my limited experience, but am now looking for a new doctor because the practice is so poorly run otherwise. It seemed to worsen late last year but has definitely declined since Lagniappe became Unity. I used to be a cheerleader for Lagniappe, even pushing them on employees as a way to maximize our health insurance benefit. But lessened office hours, scheduling errors, wrong or missing billing codes, poor customer service, unreturned calls, wait times, etc. are just too much to deal with. While I hate to leave this review under Dr. Patel personally, I couldn't find a way to rate the office without doing so. This is the West Columbia/Sunset Blvd location, not that I would expect any better at the other location.

Gives unnecessary treatment, support staff is unprofessional, long wait times

Runs late, doesn’t seem to listen fully, judges by gender/age/weight/nationality & insurance type. Starts you on medicine for chronic diagnosis she gives but doesn’t follow up nor give refills even with office visits. Terribly unprofessional staff (most of them) can hear them talking about patients while I’m in patient room as well as if I’m near check out area. Will never return to this practice or physician.
