Dr. Rajeswari Ponnuswamy, MD

I have very complex medical issues. Dr Ponnyswamy has a gift of listening and is able to wrap her head around these issues, refer me to top notch specialists when warranted, and look at my health as a whole person. She tracks all the medical issues across providers and thus is aware of treatments I am undergoing. She is not one to just throw meds at you or dismiss your concerns - she spends the time to figure what the problems are and addresses them. She is an outstanding Primary Care physician - I highly recommend Dr Ponnuswamy.

Compassionate & Caring - considers the whole person when diagnosing and treating medical issues. Excellent communication. Able to handle concurrent medical issues - a wholistic medical Problem Solver. Dr Ponnuswamy will refer out to specialists when necessary, rather than tackling issues that are complicated such as a suspicious mole or recurrent sinus issues. I had a primary care dr that insisted on treating all my medical issues and refused to refer out. This resulted in me having extensive surgery by a specialist as I was not treated properly by the PCP - and surgery that could have easily been avoided if treated by a specialist early on.

My sons and I havre all been cared for by Dr. Ponnuswamy since 2005. She is very thorough, compassionate, responsive, and has a photographic memory for all of the minutiae of family medical details. It is apparent she works extraordinarily hard and has a very personal interest in her patients. She worked with me in restoring my health from quite poor to quite good. She has a holistic and open minded approach. She is willing to work with challenging special needs clients. like my children.

Dr. Ponnuswamy implanted an IUD in me in 2013. The procedure was incredibly painful, bloody, and performed incorrectly. I was handed a consent form and asked to sign after the procedure was finished. I was in extreme pain for 5 days. I contacted a gynecologist at another facility, and they performed a vaginal ultrasound, the imaging showed that the IUD was improperly implanted and had perforated my uterine wall. It was immediatly removed. I would not recommend Dr. Ponnuswamy to anyone.
