My Doctor Search Continues
I had a less than satisfactory experience with this doctor. As other reviewers have expressed, she is more interested in her computer than talking with me. No eye to eye contact, dismissive of my concerns, no bedside manner whatsoever. Blood panel samples were sent to Lab Corp., had to redo the blood panel and it was sent to Quest Diagnostics, even though I said at the first appt. that I want Lab Corp. to be used. I can't tell what my blood values mean because there are different reference ranges between the two labs. There was information on the summary discharge document I received at the end of my first visit which was incorrect. The doctor dismissed my concern and refused to make the correction. In the end, she told me to follow up with my previous doctor. I had made up my mind to fire her, but I guess she beat me to it.I will never go back to her. I will say the staff that works there are nice. Gabby was especially helpful.

Dr Gujja, is great, hand down. She is outstanding.
Dr Gujja’s ability to listen to her patients and help them to take responsibility for their health care. I have always had a fear of doctors, still do, but Dr. Gujja has helped me to trust and confide in her. No easy task. She has gotten my health plan under control and I am forever grateful. Lucky to have such an excellent doctor, in your organization.

A few years ago, a friend at church recommended Dr. Gujja. Since becoming one of her patients I have not been disappointed. I appreciate her calm, attentive manner and her helpful recommendations for a healthy lifestyle. Her office staff are professional, friendly and kind. I have no qualms recommending her practice.

Dr Rajita Gujja is a very thorough and qualified doctor who truly cares about her patients I've been a nurse for 30 years and I also went through medical school to get my masters in public health and I'm very picky about doctors. I feel the doctor grew to see the entire person not just the disease and she listens and understands that people sometimes use complimentary and alternative medicine in conjunction with internal medicine. Give her a try I believe that she will take care of you with the high quality that should be given to all patients!

Dr Gujja asks pertinent questions about my health, actually listens to my answers and advises the proper treatment. She steers away from becoming medication dependent and more towards preventive healthcare. Since I began my relationship with Dr Gujja, my meds have decreased and I actually feel better. The staff at her office is top notch. Any issues with insurance companies is fixed even before it can become a problem. Polite, efficient.

I had to find a new doctor since Dr Giuliano (from the Nutley office) passed. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a great experience with Dr Gujja. Within a matter of about 20 minutes, the doctor mentioned my weight numerous times, like at least four times. This made me extremely uncomfortable, as I have PCOS which makes my weight very hard to manage. It is difficult to find a doctor who treats obese patients with kindness and respect. After leaving the office, I actually cried because Dr Giuliano would have never made me feel bad about my weight, he was always comforting and treated me with the same respect as someone in a smaller body. Dr Gujja telling me to try a low-carb diet was out of place, as I didn’t come there for weight loss advice. Frankly, if I was seeking advice, I would go to a licensed nutritionist. Fatphobia is a real problem in the medical field and is why many of us don’t frequently go to go to new doctors, because of the fear of harsh judgment from supposed professionals.

A last minute medical clearance exam was requested by me for eye surgery I was about to have. Dr. Gujja accommodated me by seeing me right away in order to get the medical clearance paperwork back to my eye physician's office. I appreciated her prompt attention to my situation. As usual, she gave me a thorough exam, was professional and courteous, and scheduled me for my next annual exam in September before I left. Very caring, very attentive. H

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Gujja?
Needed a telemedicine visit for a refill of Ambien for sleeplessness, after my GP passed away in April. The experience was rushed, and I did not feel that I had Dr. Gujja’s attention. I understand that doctors’ caseloads are full, but I felt that because my needs were generic the telemedicine call was whisked through and I wasn’t left feeling as though she really cared, nor had questions for me beyond the most generic kinds. This brief ten minute call saw me stuck with a bill from Mountainside Medical Group for over $100, and I’m aggravated that they did not submit it to my health insurance company — despite it being a comprehensive plan. I’ve had other telemedicine calls (with my ENT doc) in 2020, and was not charged out of pocket. I expected better than this, and a better bedside manner from Dr. Gujja. During the call I sensed a general disinterest in anything beyond getting through it in order to get to the next patient, and felt my questions weren’t of concern. I don’t recommend.

This doctor replaced the late Dr. Giuliano who was just the most caring Doctor. Learned about me before assuming. She is rude, uncomfortable, made me more anxious than when I entered, and decided to change my whole medical direction. Who does she think she is. I will be finding someone elsewhere as others in that office will be by the sounds of it.
