bad bad assistants
I was told that he takes my insurance. I asked several times and the assistant took my med card. 2 days before my procedure I was told my insurance would not cover it. I waited 2 months for this appointment and they told me 2 days before? horrible

My daughter had vaginoplasty surgery with Dr. Purohit in May 2022. We met with him the first time December 2021. When we first met with Dr Purohit, he was very thorough and patient. He took the time to answer all of our questions and used the whiteboard in the exam room to visually diagram the different options in a way that made it easy to understand. We never felt rushed and we could tell pretty quickly he was the surgeon we wanted to use. From there, we started the scheduling process and started working with Sam in the office to get everything sorted out. Having Sam on our team made us feel like we were having a VIP experience. Sam walked us through every step of the process from billing to paperwork to accommodations (since we are from out of town), to what to expect every step of the process. Sam did the communications with all of the departments to make sure everything went smoothly. I honestly feel like we could not have done this without her help. Dr. Purohit did a wonderful job on the surgery and my daughter is extremely happy with the outcome and functionality of her new vagina and vulva, but we all know behind the scenes experiences can make or break the final outcome. Sam did an amazing job coordinating everything and making sure we were taken care of every step of the way. At one point after my daughter surgery, she had a small issue that put us in the emergency room and Dr Purohit‘s team was at her bedside within five minutes of us arriving, even before an ER nurse or doc. They were able to fix the issue and put everything at ease. After the surgery, our questions and need for assistance did not stop, and Dr Purohit and his team were always there to help us with whatever we needed. It has been over two months and my daughter is completely healed, and I still feel like Sam and Dr Purohit are family. Dr. Purohit is very obviously a brilliant surgeon, and very good at what he does, but he also cares about his patients and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure the experience is top notch from start to finish. Highly recommend. I was a very nervous mother and I’m so thankful for the care we received from Dr Purohit, Sam, and the rest of the behind-the-scenes team.

I'm a transgender patient. Horrid. Casual. Careless. Consultation for surgery was 10 minutes long. Office staff was similar in carelessness and without professionalism. Office staff was quick to scold and yell. Mocked for having published side effects from a pain medication (it seems it was my fault). I was promised two surgeries A and B. 12 hours before surgery the plan changed to B first and A later, but actually there was no plan for the A surgery, which I didn't know until my last post op appointment from surgery B. Somehow, that was supposed to be good enough. It's completely unacceptable. And now I'm stuck finding a new surgical team to make the corrections. Which I will do. Thanks but no thanks. I thought I was at The Best place in the USA for transgender surgery. I was wrong.

Dr. Purohit is like no other, his passion and compassion is a truly felt! I have never been more comfortable or at easy with a doctor in my entire life. His level of communication, meeting of patient's needs, managing of patient's thresholds, setting of expectations, and being easily accessible to his patients is unparalleled. Both pre and post surgery attention is also the best I have ever experienced. If the opportunity presented itself to go back in time and reselect the surgeon for the biggest surgery of my life, I would wholehearted chose Dr. Purohit again. The office staff, especially Samantha G., are also beyond wonderful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Sami

Dr. Purohit is my urologist and has performed two long and difficult surgeries on me to repair a stricture. He is extremely intelligent, highly educated, and a kind and good person. Most importantly, Dr. Purohit is a superb and caring surgeon with excellent judgment. I had a botched surgery in the past with a different doctor (now retired). My life has been changed for the better thanks to Dr. Purohit. An added benefit is the nice people who work in his office.

Probably the worst medical experience of my life. I was sent for a CT scan which I was told my insurance was covering in full and that it would be a "few quick scans." I arrived at the hospital and needed an IV with multiple rounds of dye injections. Had I known, I would have scheduled accordingly. I was later billed for $800 and my insurance told me they never cleared the CT scan in full with his office. His office offered no apology or compensation and I was stuck paying the bill in full.

I do NOT recommend this doctor. He was very cold and rude, not giving us time to ask questions. He rushed us out of the appointment not explaining the medical condition, nor providing info on the drug he prescribed. He provided no walk away information and his office management wasn’t any better. What a miserable office visit! Never again! A total waste of my time. ????????????????????
