Excellent Surgeon!
It has taken me some time to write this review because I wanted to be very deliberate with what I say and how I detail my experience with Dr. Rahman and his office staff. Dr. Rahman is amazing and quite frankly, I trust him with my life! I started seeing him in July 2023 for lower back pain related to a spinal cord stimulator that was placed in 2018 and apparently was no longer functional. He suggested that I replace it with a newer version and different company. It was replaced in September 2023 and I’ve have no issues with it since! The device is wireless and so easy to maintain! I also recently had to have spinal surgery (Google “ACDF”) on December 1, 2023 where 3 levels of my cervical spine (C3-C6) had to be replaced with titanium. It was extremely painful, but I’m slowly recovering and it certainly beats the constant debilitating pain I felt before the surgery! From the very beginning, every single interaction with Dr. Rahman and his staff have been excellent! He changed my life!

Scoliosis surgery
I found Dr. Rahman online. I had severe scoliosis. He did spinal fusion on me from T4-S1. He was very easy to talk to he took the time to answer questions and explained everything. My surgery was over 10 hours. I can walk more then 40 ft and can stand up straight again. I am glad I found him. I have done really well with recovery. Dr. Rahman is the best Dr. I have had. At least 5 stars. If you have surgery then you need Dr. Rahman to do it. I traveled 3 hours and very thankful for Dr. Rahman.

Dr Rahman , in my personal opinion, is THE ABSOLUTE BEST ( #1in my book) spinal surgeon ever!!!! Many years ago, while he was working/studying in Springfield, Illinois, my husband was severely injured in an accident ( standing fall). He was paralyzed from the neck (c2 ) down. He would never walk or move by himself again. The day after his accident Dr Rahman performed the 1st of 2 surgeries ( the 2nd on just the following day) and by doing so, my husband was actually sent home ( able to walk and move) directly from the ICU unit after only 6 days!!!!. Of course he has continued to have issues from the accident, but he is able to use his arms and walk with a cane to this day... this was about 15 years ago....if it wasn't for Dr Rahman's exceptional skill my husband would have been in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I thank God daily that Dr Rahman was the surgeon for my husband.

Don't go if you are in documented severe pain
He ordered imaging. I have terrible adult scoliosis. He ordered imaging. Said really bad but he could fix. I asked for pain meds for ONE month to withstand making it to testing before surgery. He refused, saying he only does it AFTER surgery. Tried to refer me to pain management Dr....only need for a MONTH! I cannot withstand the transportation without pain control. Had to cancel everything. HE IGNORES HIPPOCRATIC OATH. (relieve suffering)

I was really looking forward to this visit
Terrible experience. From the wait time (2.5 hours) past my appointment time. To the girls at the front not checking me in properly. Then when I was called back they asked if I had imaging and I said yes, but no one asked for it because I was never checked in properly. The office note after my appointment was wrong. It repeatedly said "lumbar" spine when I have no issues with my lumbar spine. I only have imaging/pain of my thoracic. A thoracic fusion was approved by my insurance all I had to do was schedule a sx date. Don't have surgery by someone who can't get your office note correct.. then wants to cut on you. No thank you. As a health care professional myself this visit was a joke. I work with a large University in the area with Ortho-Physicians and they were made aware of the awful experience.

He has been one of the finest doctors I've ever met! Extremely knowledgeable and very talented in deciphering non-textbook symptoms. As a patient- I can describe my pain, but I'm befuddled when trying to ascertain where the pain originates, or what is actually causing the pain. Dr. Rahman excels at putting the puzzle pieces together. And he does so with much patience and empathy. I have referred others to him, and I will continue to do so.
