I've been seeing Dr. Bey for a couple of years. Any time I've had questions or concerns he shuts me down and blames me for my medicine not working. He says everything is because of childhood trauma and that therapy will fix it. I'm in therapy, but I'm still depressed on my medication, but he refused to try something else, so I found a female psychiatrist that actually cares about her patients. Don't see this doctor.

It was my experience that I felt Dr. Ramzi was aloof, condescending, and rash in giving diagnosis and treatments. I came into my appointment wanting to explore medication for anxiety. However, after ten minutes of explaining the circumstances that seemed to be activating my anxiety, I was immediately shut down and told that childhood trauma was the cause. He then went on to suggest that the symptoms I was describing were more akin to someone with BPD. Mind you I have done therapy in the past, never once was I suggested that I have BPD. During our session he also alluded to facial piercings being an exercise of self harming tendencies. Mind you, I have exactly one facial piercing... Overall I think it was incredibly reckless to be making so many assertions without the patience or care to have a little rapport before launching into what I do or don't have. It seemed he was more interested in being heard than listening, so if you value being listened to please consider other professionals

TERRIBLE, waste of my insurance
Telehealth
I was diagnosed with ADHD when i was younger and wanted to get adhd medication now that im older and on my own insurance he said he wouldn’t diagnose me online even though im alr diagnosed. And he wouldn’t prescribe me medication, now my insurance won’t cover the cost of my visits so I have no way of getting prescribed. He didn’t even let me get a word in to ask a question he has a premeditated speech

As someone with a long history of mental health, I was just hoping to get back on a SSRI and I could get in to see him quicker than I could with my normal doctor. Within 10 minutes, he told me he would not prescribe me medication. He said he believed I was misdiagnosed, I likely had BPD (which I don't have any symptoms of), and jumped to the conclusion that I had trauma in my childhood and would soon realize that I had an autoimmune disorder which is the cause of my infertility. Mind you, I met with him for generalized anxiety. He was offputting, way off base, and made me lose trust in mental health professionals. Please, do not see him.

Good doctor
Telehealth
I would definitely recommend this doctor. I found Dr. Mardam Bey to be a little difficult to talk to at first, but noticed after a couple sessions, he seemed to loosen up a little and became much easier to talk to. He was the first psychiatrist I’ve had that took the time to dig into my symptoms and focus on more than just surface-level complaints and make a quick diagnosis. As a result, I feel that my treatment has been more effective because I’m actually heading in the right direction and focusing on the right things. I think the only area he would need to think about working on is trying to develop a little more rapport with his patients to make them feel a little more comfortable. Overall, he’s a good doctor and I’d recommend him!!

Please think twice before booking
Telehealth
I’ve never left a psychiatry appointment feeling more lost, misunderstood and confused. I booked this appointment just to get a second opinion about a medication I was prescribed and the whole time he talked to me like I was a combative patient who only wanted to be told what I wanted to hear. I tried to reassure him that I would respect his opinion but I couldn’t get a word in. He also got annoyed with me when I told him about some documents he missed while reviewing my paperwork and blamed me for “making him review a 5 page document” and rushed my appointment so he could get to his next one despite him being several minutes late. I logged on 5 minutes early. I wish I hadn’t mentioned my old doctor loosely diagnosing me with BPD because he took that and ran with it, proclaiming “I knew you had BPD before you even opened your mouth.” After reading the other reviews I’m not sure I trust that. I’ve never felt more looked down on before I talked to this doctor. Cried for an hour after.

Great Doctor!
Telehealth
I started going to Dr. Bey in the Fall of 2021. He has always listened to my suggestions (I'm a nurse) and has advised me well. Helped me alot with a loss in the family, and trying to get me off one of the medications another doctor put me on. I love having a consistant psychiatrist since I have moved cities a good bit. I have had some issues with the app, it really needs a strong internet connection to prevent any tech issues.

Easy to talk to and very knowledgeable!
Telehealth
Dr. Mardam Bey has been helping me through telehealth for a little over a year. I was very nervous as I had never seen a psychiatrist before and I have watched my mother go through horror story interactions with her doctors. However, my apprehensions were quickly gone as he was very easy to talk to. He genuinely listens and remembers what you tell him. He gives multiple treatment options and genuinely requests your input so you can find what is best for you. All in all, I am very grateful for his help!

Tells you the hard things
Telehealth
When I first started with Dr. Mardam Bey, I was taking a medication for a different diagnosis. Dr. Bey suggested that my diagnosis was incorrect and that I should be taking a different medication relating to BPD. I was initially very unwilling to accept this, but I found throughout my treatment that this was an apt diagnosis. The medication that I was taking had the potential to worsen my condition and I had often been misdiagnosed before, something that is very common with BPD. If you're looking for confirmation bias, this is probably not where you will find that. A good doctor will challenge you and tell you what you need to hear even if you do not like the answer. Dr. Bey has made it easier for me to live my life and be a better husband and father. I strongly recommend him and his insight.
