I was impressed with Dr. Marcus before I actually met him as recommendations were strong, and the professionalism of his staff along with the UH pre-op education and preparation provided made me very comfortable prior to my Total Hip Replacement Surgery. Once meeting Dr. Marcus, the first stand out for me was the confidence and personality I immediately experienced from him, and both the knowledge and concern exuding from him to me regarding my condition. My surgery went very well, and I have been very pleased with the recovery process. Six weeks into my recovery, from walker to crutches to a cane, I am now able to walk without pain. I am elated about the results and after leaving my 1st post-op follow-up meeting yesterday, I remain very impressed with Dr. Marcus, and I would certainly recommend him for Total Hip Recovery Surgery.

Dr. Marcus did my hip replacement and everything worked out perfectly. The operation, the hospital care, and the rehab. And exactly as he described. Six weeks later I am walking normally without any pain. . I highly recommended Dr Marcus.

Dr. Marcus is a wonderful, caring and understanding surgeon. I had a total knee replacement and with hard work of recovery, I couldn't be better. Dr. Marcus is an asset to University Hospitals, and goes out of his way to take care of his patients. His staff is also great and caring. When I get my other knee replaced, Dr. Marcus will be performing the surgery. I would recommend him to anyone needing hip and knee replacement surgery at University Hospitals.

Very condescending doctor. My daughter is a nurse at UH and you would think that would give her an in. No such luck his bedside manner is awful! He was very rude and just kept saying they didn’t take correct X-ray. No fault of ours! He was very insensitive about the pain she has been enduring for years, which now is compromising her work life. I can’t express the “hope” we went into this appointment with it was really quite devastating. Please do better doctor!

R. Marcus is very aware of the problem & has recommendations to resolve it. And patient as he listens. Pain management is important to him.

My experience with Dr. Marcus was terrible in May and June of 2020. This was my first and last visit. I have osteoarthritis in both my knees. Dr. Marcus gave me injections in both knees and the pain became worse and was unbearable. After three(3) visits to his office, he referred me to a rheumatologist. Both my primary care doctor and my new orthopedic doctor informed me that I did not require a rheumatologist. A rheumatologist is for severe rheumatoid arthritis. I am diagnosed with osteoarthritis and Dr. Marcus was quite aware of that. Not only did I suffer needlessly, but I had to pay a $90 copay for my insurance. This is my first terrible experience with a University Hospital physician, and I have been with UH for over 40 years.

Dr. Marcus performed hip replacement surgery on both of my hips and the results are phenomenal. He is very thorough, very detailed and very personable. He made me feel very comfortable with the recommendations he gave me regarding my surgeries. I would recommend him to anyone needing surgery that is in his specialty. University Hospital provides great patient care.

I put my full faith in Dr Marcus. He is a caring and compassionate professional who listens and works with you to offer the options best indicated for your situation. He treats you as an individual and doesn't come in with pre-made assumptions - never dismissive. His staff is exceptional as well. I would highly recommend him. Thank you Dr Marcus

I can’t say enough about Dr. Marcus. He and his TEAM are exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. Their wonderful attitude and positive-ness made my whole experience with my new knee. He truly gave me a whole new life without pain and I am able to do things with my grandchildren, go for walks, all the things I was unable to do. For that I am forever greatful. After a podiatrist’s misdiagnosis, I got a second opinion from Dr. Marcus. I had a severely arthritic big toe, and fusion of the joint was indicated for permanent pain relief. I cannot praise Dr. Marcus enough for his professionalism and expertise. My outpatient surgery went smoothly, and I am enjoying a pain free big toe. Dr. Marcus is caring, compassionate, personable and an incredibly nice man!

Doctor Marcus is a Outstanding surgeon with the Hands Of God, He did a Miracle Recreation of my right foot,I had a huge infected bunion that forced me to walk on my big toe,in less than 12 weeks he made the foot normal, he is a pioneer in surgical removal of arthritis of the foot, he removed the arthritis so the bunion would not come back , i could not walk for 5 years before i saw him,now i can walk normal. imagine your big toe turned under your foot and the rest of your toes Hammered over it.

Had ankle fusion two years ago and am unable to walk on ankle with out a brace or a walker have been thru all the tests required and am get no relief.Have always had the utmost satisfaction but not happy with the outcome of this ankle. I have always praised Dr. Marcus
