Dr. Randell Richardson, DDS

I went to this office because they were on my insurance and had better reviews than many others I saw in the area. I did not specifically choose DR Richardson but BOY am I glad I was assigned to him at monarch dental in Lewisville. It seems that I lucked out purely by accident. You see my cigna medicare plan has dental coverage and initially I chose an office that said they took my cigna medicare plan. I got new xrays and a cleaning all at no cost but when I went get with the business insurance person she said she just discovered that my cigna plan IS NOT one that they participate in after all. They gave me treatment plan and estimated charges. They listed an expensive crown removal and replacement to get at some decay beneath the crown but above the gum line. Well I decided that financially it would be better for me to go somewhere that accepted my plan. Well Dr Richardson took his own xrays and his treatment plan was for a filling on that tooth NOT a NEW Crown. saved me $1500

Today was my first visit with Dr. Richardson and it started off good, he came in and greeted me and said who he was. But, then things turned for the worse when i denied his suggestion regarding extracting my wisdom teeth. Then all of a sudden his attitude changed and he became rude and disrespectful. I was laying down as he was talking to me and the next thing i know if another person comes in to review my treatment plan, i didnt even know my time with Dr.Richardson has ended or that he was finished with me. Because, he just left. No nice to meet you or goodbye. I called him back in and expressed my concern to him and his response as to why he behaved the way he did was because "i turned him off." So, because i denied his suggestion regarding my teeth, i deserve to be treated like that? That was unacceptable and unprofessional. As a professional in a professional setting, i shouldn't feel or treated any differently because of my decision. I wasnt impressed by that at all.

I have been going to this Monarch dental for the last few years mainly because it is convenient. I have no complaints. The care I have received has been good. No hard sales. I will continue to go there.

This Doctor works at a place that has very shaking business practices. Stay away from this place. My son went to them and I asked them to run a pre-cert with the insurance company so that they would provide me with the exact amount of out of pocket expense I would have. I paid that amount and had the procedure done. They waited a while and then all of a sudden I got an additional bill for $350.00. We called and they said we had no insurance (which I found to be true because my son aged out o
