Expect the minimum
1st visit & test were fine. After f/u visit, he recommended that a specialist review chart. 2 days later, at 6pm on a Thursday, he plopped a ‘cut and paste’ version of the specialist’s report into MyChart. It basically said the issue could be minor, or something malignant that should be biopsied or have CAT scans to confirm. He didn’t interpret the report, just at the end said ‘let me know what you want to do.’ Tried to, but he didn’t respond to my follow up questions. Next day his office staff didn’t respond to my phone message, which front desk staff said would be responded to that day. Learned that he was out until Monday. Only saw him because my Dr. was unavailable. Fortunately, my Dr. responded, & was professional as always. After a week of worrying and testing, I learned it wasn’t cancer. A 5th grader could’ve passed along a report and gone fishing for the weekend. Total lack of professionalism, compassion, or emotional IQ. If my Dr. is unavailable again, I’ll wait.
