Dr. Rashida Merchant provided some of the worst patient care my wife has ever experienced. She dismissed her concerns and constantly sought to avoid taking responsibility for my wife’s reproductive healthcare. She continually tried to refer my wife to reproductive endocrinology, despite the fact that PCOS is an easily managed condition by a GYN. She outright refused to prescribe progesterone unless my wife had already endured MULTIPLE miscarriages. Now, with confirmed low post-ovulation progesterone levels, it's clear how negligent her approach was. With my wife's decade of experience in OBGYN and women's reproductive health, she knows progesterone is commonly prescribed for fertility issues related to low post-ovulation levels. It's absurd and cruel to force someone to miscarry before offering this treatment. It makes no sense at all to wait until a woman miscarries to prescribe this treatment, as it’s completely safe and commonly prescribed for low post-ovulation progesterone. Dr. Merchant never listened, treated my wife like she was ignorant, and showed no willingness to work with her at all. When my wife inquired about the thickness of her endometrial lining, in her reply Dr. Merchant put quotes around my wife’s words, giving the impression she was annoyed by the question. It came off as both snarky and condescending, and gave us both the distinct impression she wanted to shut down the conversation, rather than address my wife’s concerns. She never gave a thorough or satisfactory answer to the question, besides throwing my wife’s words back at her in quotes. These are just some examples of the poor patient care my wife received. Dr. Merchant's indifference to my wife's struggles, constant stonewalling of treatment discussions, and complete deferment of responsibility are unacceptable. Her lack of effort and empathy is frankly astounding and completely unacceptable. A Very Disappointed Husband

Very Bad Patient Care
This doctor is truly awful. She did not listen to my concerns at all. Literally told me she would not prescribe me progesterone unless I had already had MULTIPLE miscarriages. It has now been verified my post ovulation progesterone is low. I have worked in OBGYN and women’s reproductive health for a decade. Progesterone is commonly prescribed to women struggling with fertility and have low post ovulation progesterone, and it’s absolutely not a requirement nor does it make sense to make them miscarry before prescribing it. Never listened to my concerns. Always treated me like I was stupid. Was not willing to work with me at all, and seemed genuinely indifferent to my fertility issues. Actively stonewalled me when I tried to bring up treatment options without providing alternatives. Her solution was literally for me to go have several miscarriages before she would even consider helping me in any way. The lack of genuine effort on her part is mind blowing.

I saw Dr. Merchant in a Cooper office. The entire visit she would not listen to my concerns or let me speak about my symptoms and health. She instead pushed judgement and rushed through the appointment. There was no individualized care or bedside manner. I was just a number in her day. This appointment gave me a lot of distrust and the need for a chaperone for future visits. I will be going to see a different doctor in the future. I recommend bringing an advocate with you if you can’t do it for yourself.

I highly recommend Dr Merchant. I was just about ready to wash my hands of Cooper.. but not now. She was knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and communicative not dismissive or uninterested. I am so happy to have chosen her.

Dr. Merchant is the best! She really cares about her patients. I am so glad I met her during my pregnancy. She was there for me every step of the way. And when I needed a LEEP done, she drove an hour out of her way to see me at the Voorhees office to do the procedure in office because I was concerned financially about having the surgery done in hospital. She also called me late the night before Thanksgiving to give me the good news about my results so that I didn’t spend my holiday anxious about it. Very thoughtful and knowledgeable doc - I won’t see anyone else!

Didn't like her at all. She swore she couldn't feel my ovaries. She had me go and get a pelvic ultrasound and a transvaginal. I went and all was fine. Had a test I didn't need. She never even followed up with me. What if I didn't have access to my results?
