Not thorough or kind
I saw Dr Herman-Smith for 4 years. My annual physical was not thorough and she failed to order routine tests consistent with my health history. She was curt and dismissive of my brief questions. When I became very sick, she was unavailable to follow up, provide a diagnosis or authorize a prescription. Her nurse practitioner was excellent but everyone here is too busy to give adequate care. In summary, neither effective or kind. I recommend you find quality care elsewhere.

Dr. Herman-Smith was dismissive of my symptoms. After multiple visits and her LAUGHING at my concerns, I sought a second opinion. Johns Hopkins quickly diagnosed me as having a serious illness and were shocked at Dr. Herman-Smith's neglect and bedside manner.

I have been a patient for a number of years and my experience has gone from marginal to unpleasant and concerning. I am now required to make office appointments more frequently for maintenance meds for know reason other than charging research. The last straw was when she advised me to wait to get a Covid booster ( 7 months after I had been Covid vaccinated) despite me being eligible with no contraindications. She says she “ is a science girl”, but I don’t see it. I put up with her superior and dismissive attitude, but this was the last straw.

Dr. Herman-Smith was not knowledgeable or kind. Gave me bad medical advice. Dismissive. Looking at all her bad reviews online I can see I am not the only one with this experience.

Extremely arrogant doctor where the patient has little to say. Enjoys power over her patients ..... She told me I did not have any other option except to follow her..... The last visit she dare to tell me and this is verbatim: " you are such a horrible patient.... Yes YOU ARE ..." assertion that let me with my mouth wide opened!!! She was irritated that I had not been taken one of the drugs she prescribed( it was destroying my guts and had horrible diarrea)... She followed by saying -verbatim " I cannot understand how you can be so precise in your job but so careless with your health matters.. " clearly implying that I was an incompetent in my job when she does not know me from anywhere/anything except my visits to her office. FOR ME THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! My opinion is that she is not qualified to deal with patients and they should cancel her license. She was pushing to prescribe as many drugs as she could for her own profit... SCANDALOUS.. there is a couple of more things ..courts

Don’t waste your time on her practice or any other FPC practice. Extremely inconsiderate uncaring rude doctor with rude egotistical backward nurse and front office staff. I was a new patient in her practice (just moved from out of state) with a lot of health issues (spine, knee, feet, chronic asthma, severe chronic fatigue and ovarian Cists), in addition to being the single mother of a special needs child in a stressful relationship. And she and her nurse got all of this out of me the first two visits. And also managing a new job. She without a word dismissed me from her practice when her rude egotistical entitled nurse and staff refused to work with my new insurance change on covering my birth control pills. Essentially the nurse was too busy to return insurance calls, was ignoring them and the front office staff was upset about me being upset about this. Two-faced deceitful individuals like her and her staff don’t deserve the privilege of getting yours or your insurance money

I'd say about half of the office staff is friendly, the other half is rude. Wait time on the phone is always ridiculous. Wait time in the office as well. Over an hour wait today. When she finally arrived (after I called the front desk to see if I was forgotten about) she was extremely arrogant and obnoxious. When I told her I was unhappy with waiting over an hour, she said she has other patients. She said people are all about "me, me, me" and all she does every day is take care of people.

I have found Dr. Herman-Smith to be both very competent and thorough. She has been my Primary Care Physician now for about 7 years. I think it is very important to advocate for your own health-care, especially when seeing a new doctor. I am normally very cautious when seeing new doctors. Over the past 7 years I have developed a trust with her and feel very comfortable in both her diagnosis and presence. I would recommend her to anyone, especially those looking for a D.O.

Initially hospitalized for “Diverticulitis”, with excessive rectal bleeding. 03/15/2016 - 03/21/2016 – Not happy with current PCP – (RHS) Rebecca Herman-Smith, D.O. *** First Visit I explained the events that led me to be hospitalized. I was told by (RHS) that I probably had “COLON CANCER”. I was in shock. So… What do I do…? (RHS) went on to explain how I probably would survive after my entire colon was removed and I was placed on the Colostomy BAG. Please NOTE: I HAD NOT YET HAD A COLONOSCOPY

I had an appt. and was not seen until 1hr and 33mins later;common. I have reoccuring sinus infections that I see her for and typically follow a pattern when I start to have symptoms this visit I was diagnosed with bronchitis and was not prescribed any antibiotics. The next day I call and request an antibiotic as I'm coughing my lungs out and hoarse the nurse requested that I come back in meaning another co-pay on an issue that ends up being a sinus infection better off going to Urgent Care.

I would not recommend this doctor. She prescribed me medication knowing that it was contraindicated with a medical condition that I have. I nearly died. On another occasion, she was upset that I didn't take one of her recommendations and she said to me well, it's your life. You decide if you want to die or not. When I addressed my concern about her manner with the office, I was told that this is just her personality. RUN from her!!!
