If you or your loved one is 50 or older, I recommend not having a mammogram at Mercy. If you need or want to go there, consider asking to have someone other than Rebecca Stough review it. If she sees calcifications (google it - nearly all women have them after age 50) she calls it DCIS (also called stage 0 cancer), even though at that point she doesn't know if cancer is present. This results in trauma (physical and emotional) in women who are unlikely to develop cancer

Dr. Stough is a radiologist at Mercy Hospital in OKC. Part of her job is to review mammograms done there and in Edmond, and to prepare a written report for the patient. She uses a template to prepare the reports and is not always careful to fill in the blanks correctly. For example, she has given at least one patient a report that referred to the wrong breast. If I have another mammogram done at mercy I will write in red on the registration form I DO NOT WANT DR STOUGH TO REVIEW THIS TEST.
