the best heart surgeon in the world!
Dr. Burke took our daughter's health in his hands from the moment she was born, she has hypoplastic left heart syndrome and other associated pathologies, he has operated on her heart three times in the Fontan surgery protocol ;Nordwood, Glenn and Fontan , all have been a success, today my daughter is 10 years old and her heart lives with a great quality of life and we owe that to Redmond Burke and his team and the wonderful cardiology team at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami. Dr. Burke is a wonderful doctor and has been the hands of God in our lives, his human quality is his best talent.

Our baby was born with tetralogy of Fallot. Multiple heart defects. She was transferred by air so Dr. Redmond Burke could operate on her after she was born. Dr. Burke has performed thousands of open-heart procedures on children and new borns, and performs a few hundred each year. We are blessed. His success rate is very high (close to one hundred percent) and considered a pioneer. My family describes Dr. Burke as a surgeon who holds a scalpel that is in the hands of God. Everything was a success and everyone who is part of Dr. Burke's team is fantastic and their bedside manner is incredible.

My wife and I were scared when our baby was born with a congenital heart disease, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare congenital heart defect some children are born with. Our pediatrician tells me there is another problem, the medication prostaglandin was not at the hospital. The condition is so rare, the hospital pharmacy allowed it to expire. Prostaglandin was needed to keep the patent ductus arteriosus open, according to our pediatrician. She told me it was enroute from another hospital. Time was of the essence. The patent ductus arteriosus could not close. It usually closes after birth. I spoke to the the pediatrician in the hallway and told her I did not feel comfortable with just any pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon. I asked, "If this were your child, who would you want to operate on your son?" Without pausing and without hesitation, she spoke of only one surgeon, Dr. Reymond Burke. I asked the pediatrician to make it happen. She did. Dr. Burke and his team are amazing.

My son had sx to dissect &repair his vascular ring.. Dr Burke and his team were thorough Keeping us informed about what comes next and AALLLL of the options.. including the risks and responsibilities for each... Most surgeons ( albeit not those dedicated to pediatrics lol) I’ve found aren’t quite so involved with patient care.. I had a personal number I could call or text 24 hours both before pre op and well after his discharge.. I even received an email from the team a few weeks after we’d been home inquiring how we were doing and “if it’s ok can u give us an update on him and share some photos”! It is mire then just ok.. it’s how it should be! Thanks dr Burke not only for giving my son the new heart tune up n wicked cool ya too haha.. thanks from bottom of my family hearts to you n your staff for putting the human back in ethics and humanities!
