I recommend her to all my friends and anyone that
She is her professional and kind. Talks to me in a way that I can understand what she means. She's always smiling has a joke they're very serious when it comes down to your eyes. We're working on trying to get my cataract to progress. But it seems to be getting better. It just must be her touch.

Dr. Patel is an outstanding doctor
Dr. Patel takes the time necessary to listen to her patients so that she fully understands their concerns. Her staff is skilled at conducting a battery of eye tests prior to every appointment so that progress can be measured. Dr. Patel has excellent people skills and makes it clear that her goal is for the patient to have the best possible outcome.

Excellent care
Even after over 16 years of having her take care of my eyes, I wouldn't recommend any other Opthamologist and wouldn't recommend an optometrist. Dr. Patel is an actual M.D. and is more qualified than an Optometrist.

Aneurysm
Dr Patel is my Hero doctor. She saved my life! I woke up one morning with a pain in my right temple and my right eye felt scratched as though the cornea was damaged. The pain was constant and becoming more intense so I went to the ER and had a C-T scan and a blood test for Large Cell Arteritis which was negative. I went to Dr Patel and she saw that my right eye and eyelid were atrophying and sent me straight to the ER at Wesley. They saw by the high contrast C-T scan and MRI that I had an aneurysm behind the eye and needed emergency surgery. Thank you Dr Patel! Debra

Distasteful
One visit and not returning. Dr Patel (aka Doc Klingon) is under-skilled in providing minimum decent bedside manners and explaining to patients procedures, reminds one of barbarics. After observing her staff, during the 3 hour wait, it is clear to see that her staff is scared to death of her! And sadly they reflect her lack of professionalism as they gossip about patients at the front desk. It is true, her office gets overbooked because doc Patel has yet to master the art of being professional and excels in being deficient in time and quality management; No respect for other's time. One visit and that is all it took to not care to return. She does not care about patients, she has a God complex which is frightening....

Visits can take up to 3 hours, with 3/4th of the time just waiting. Waiting area not comfortable. Not told when eye exam will involve blurring vision, so you can bring a driver. Front desk staff rude and rarely helpful. Felt like I was on an assembly line at each visit. Dr. Patel is a good doctor but not worth all of this when there are other doctors that can do the same exams and procedures.

Referred to by another Doctor. She is through and knowledgeable about the eye but everything else was horrible. You wait an hour, go through several eye tests and then wait another 30 mins, see the doctor for 5 mins and then appt over. While I can tolerate most things, a doctor disrespectful of my time is not one of them. After an appt that impaired my vision for several hours, I asked that if I was scheduled for a procedure that temporarily impaired my vision to let me know ahead of time so I could get a driver and was told they already do that. When I explained that had not been done, I was just dismissed. Another time I was referred to another doctor for a consult, however the doctor was out of my insurance network. No one told me this and I ended up with a bill over $400, When I addressed this with the person who scheduled the appt she informed me it was my job to find out if he was in network, not hers. I filed a complaint with insurance and never went back.

I went to Dr. Patel because I was worried I was developing Thyroid Eye disease. I finally saw her over two hours past my appointment time, and my time with her was so confusing. She hardly made any eye contact with me, asked me a few questions like how my allergies were (this was my first visit and I said I don't have allergies to which she replied, "Oh, yes you do, in your eyes." This was news to me). After a few exchanges like that, she kind of explained that my eyes were dry. After a few minutes of her asking me questions, she asked me to follow her from the room. I was so unaware that our visit was over I asked if I could leave my purse there. Nope. We were done. She took me to the front desk and disappeared. No goodbye, she didn't ask me if I had any questions, no nice to meet you or thanks for coming in. She didn't go over any treatment with me, but the woman at the front desk handed me a paper with about eight things to do on it. I am so confused and disappointed.

I totally trust Dr. Patel. I don't trust her front office staff. J accused me that surgery wasn't scheduled because I didn't do 2 things. How can I do the 2 things if I wasn't even told to do it? I am left in the dark because information is not communicated to me correctly. I went to drop off papers and payment today for an upcoming surgery. A asked me if I brought the authorization papers. I told her that she only gave me 2 brochures and 2 other papers with pricing at my last visit. She said, "I wrote it up last time and gave it to you. Okay. I'll just make a copy of it again." Again? Did she just call me a liar? There were 2 sets of paperwork she did not give me at my last appt. She also told me she would call and let me know if they can use the report from my heart dr. No phone call or follow-up with me. I have my heart dr. appt tomorrow. Guess I have to do the legwork myself. So disappointed. How can a Dr. have such sub-quality staffing represent her?
