I had an excellent experience with Dr. R. Pappas and her staff. I admit that when I first saw 1 or 2 unfavorable comments posted by others, I was a bit wary. However, after meeting her and some of the staff members I was quite confident she would do an excellent job on my cataracts. I was nervous after the 1st surgery as my vision was slightly blurred. I remember she informed me that "everyone heals differently". I had RK surgery almost 30 yrs ago and have astigmatism in both eyes, so it took me just a few days longer to heal...but each day was better and better. I followed the drops regimen diligently. She even called me PERSONALLY to discuss the approach she would use for my 2nd eye (including a thorough explanation of her lens recommendation for that eye) since I had more RK cuts and worse astigmatism in it. Her recommendation was spot on and I'm seeing great now! Remember, "everyone heals differently". She also listened to and answered ALL of the questions I came with!

The staff is super friendly and kind. The doctor is also nice. She did cataract surgery on me and put in a lens that is way too powerful for my eye. It’s horrible! It’s like looking through someone else’s very strong glasses, but it’s permanent. Now over a month later I’m left crying every day because it gets worse every day. I’m off balance, I can’t drive more than a mile, I can not drive at night, I can barely shower because my vision is so blurred and bad that I’m very off balance! I have spoken to her a few times. All she says is that it will take time. So I went for a second opinion from a very well known doctor and he disagrees with everything she has told me. He said I would never get used to this lens because it is not the right one for me. I have to have another operation now to remove this lens and have another less powerful one put in its place. It’s a nightmare. I would never ever recommend Dr. Regine Pappas amd I would say please see someone else instead. Zero stars!

I went to her for many years, but the surgery she did turned out awful. Three subsequent eye specialists I’ve seen since, all three, indicated the surgery wasn’t necessary. Sadly, I’ve lost a lot of vision. I wish I had never met her.

I am close to filing a malpractice suit against Dr. Pappas. After a negative outcome in cataract / pterigium surgery she blamed the outcome on a "genetic condition" that later proved false, she lied about using a stitch in surgery (which was causing extreme pain) and advised me to "just take it" when she learned that hydrocodone was in my house, without even asking about the dosage or milligrams). After seeking help elsewhere I had the "non-dissolvable stitch" removed. A total nightmare!

Dr. Pappas is one of the best in the business in the sub-specialties she practices in. I base this on her experience, level of expertise, continuous education, surgery skills (most notably her pioneering accomplishments in canaloplasty), and cheerful supportive disposition. She will spend the time to answer any question posed to her should you care to educate yourself. Try doing THAT elsewhere. As far as wait times much shorter than the "Gods" at Bascom Palmer. Dr. Pappas is cool & spectacular!

Most caring doctor you can find! front desk staff have been nothing but accommodating. You will not find anyone else that takes the time to talk to you as a human. you will not be a # trust me. The wait might be a bit long at time but that is only because the staff and doc listens/and talks with patients. Highly recommend!

Dr. Pappas and her staff are competent and highly professional. My husband was referred to Dr. Pappas due to her specialization in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment and she did not disappoint. In addition to her encyclopedic knowledge of all things related to glaucoma, she takes as much time as necessary to ensure all our questions were addressed and she provided information we needed to make fully-informed medical decisions. Dr. Pappas and her staff go above and beyond for their patients.

I found it to be like a factory/assembly line operation with no regard to my time or others around me. I believe everyone should always get a second opinion. It is clearly a practice of getting patients in, doing cataract surgery, and then getting the next group of patients in. I regret that I did not get a second opinion. I especially HIGHLY recommend that if you have had LASIK surgery, get a second and third opinion. I can't stress enough! Allow at least TWO HOURS FOR ALL APPOINTMENTS!

I was referred to Dr Pappas under the VA Choice program for cataract surgery. I was apprehensive as first. Her staff and her put me a ease on first visit. During my preop visit, the testing was extensive to have the right choice of lens for me. During and after both surgeries, I had excellent followup and care. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Will have her do my lid surgeries. My vision after cataract surgeries is excellent, was able to see out of each eye in less than 12 hours.
