Dr. Renata Segal, DO

She repeatedly cut me off as I was describing my symptoms. Ordered tests that were completely irrelevant to the body part of concern. Misdiagnosed me and prescribed a couple of medications to mask symptoms. I visited another dr and they discovered my appendix was about to burst. Rushed me into surgery. I am now recovering. I can only imagine what would have happened if my appendix did rupture and I just continued taking the irrelevant medications she prescribed. I can’t say I would be alive today.

I needed a PCP as mine had just retired (she was an internal medicine doctor). I have 2 significant health diagnoses, so I needed a doc who understood the nuances of those conditions. Dr. Segal was nice enough during the visit and seemed involved (I was going to start using a new medical device that would be facilitated through her), and she assured me that she knew how to navigate the device order. Long story short, it took 8 weeks and numerous calls on my part to receive my order (she sent the order to the wrong place initially, then her office used the wrong fax number repeatedly for the order, as well as she had entered incorrect health information on my record which I’m still trying to get corrected). I don’t think she’s bad, per se, but I don’t have confidence that she’s the best doctor to navigate more complex health issues. If your health needs are simple you might be just fine. However, I will continue my search for a better fit.
