Missed diagnosis
We brought our child into Candava back in Feb 2023 while he was at Upstate. My child was complaining about pronounced bradycardia and intense lactose and gluten sensitivities. During intake, Candava just sat there and spoke to the other parent. Never talked to me or our child (14). When he was done asking the mother his questions, he began to schedule another appointment. And I quote: 'Ummm, are you going to speak to me or our child? Becuase you haven't asked us any questions, and the child lives with me full time.'For the next 10 minutes, my child and I told him 'the real story.' Still, no blood work.Three very common symptoms of Hashimotos are bradycardia, lactose, and gluten sensitivity. The fourth comes from blood work. A random visit to the ER resulted in bloodwork and a diagnosis. Endo asked, why Gastro never asked for blood work. We didn't have an answer.
