Dr. Ricardo Fermo, MD

Dr. Fermo spent the 15 minute session on his computer. He prescribed medication & never gave me a diagnosis.

Been seeing him for over 12 years. He is a psychiatrist who only focuses on pharmaceutical solutions to mental health problems. Initial screening and diagnosis were very helpful, but since that time has required semi-annual visits to refill prescriptions. For years his scheduling was atrocious (often waiting 1-2 hours after scheduled visit). Covid19 solved that problem and now only does Telehealth calls. Has increased his rates to $200 for 15 minutes (usually 2 minutes to confirm everything is fine). Administrative staff is not competent, poor follow up, with heavy turnover of staff.

The doctor has been great but office and getting any response to calls or text is completely unacceptable. Anyone besides the doctor does not have a shred of professionalism.

This man is amazing. He has helped me beyond words. He takes his time with me and explains and answers every question I have. He will do everything he can to help get you to feel better. He's doesn't judge you and treats you with respect. I've seen him for 6 years. I would not be here without him. Definitely recommend him to anyone. Others say he has long wait times every once in awhile he has waits. He is well worth the wait.

Dr. Fermo is a great doctor! However, he needs to take courses in communication and hire a competent office manager. If not, he is best suited to work for someone else that has those skills.

Always open to communicate with someone who is informed on their own condition. He is very kind and smart.

This is the smartest Dr I've met, that's why I've been seeing him for almost 10 years. He listens without judgement. He knows how every medication works. Love talking with him it's a pleasure every time. One suggestion would be better communication with patients. Other than that, he's the best and I consider him an old friend.

Dr. Fermo was able to help my husband after 2 years of doctors. I highly recommend him and my husband is grateful for him.

I’ve got nothing but love for Dr. Fermo. All of the reviews that say he is so behind and doesn’t have time to get back to you mean that he is booked (bc he is such an awesome doctor). He’s been my psychiatrist for several years and I trust him whole heartedly. My brother was bipolar and Dr. Fermo was the only doctor that he didn’t walk out on. Dr. Fermo is cool, collected, intelligent, knowledgeable, and relatable. Yes, he may be busy, but that’s because he is a bada** psychiatrist! He’s saved my life and many, many others!

HORRIBLE!!! Called with an emergency important and miserable problem and jerked around while they lied and stalled me for two days so far!!! And that’s just this one most recent bad episode!

I was a patient of dr Fermo as a child until I was an adult. He is a very awesome doctor and I’m thankful for him helping me to learn to cope with thing instead of turning to meds. I’m now 28 and doing so much better.

Great experience with this doctor. He listens, combines what you say with your prior experience and response to meds and his instincts about what issues are present to come up with a treatment plan. He adjusts it as you go to improve the results. I would and do recommend him to any of my friends and family needing help with simple to complex psychiatric issues.

The staff at Dr. Fermo's office is great, friendly and tends to all my needs. Dr. Fermo can run late at times due to being with other patients but its expected as situations that are uncontrollable do arise along with last minute patients who may need to be seen.

Dr. Fermo appears to be extremely knowledgeable, however that all of the knowledge in the world does not make up for his lack of caring and the thoughtlessness and inconsideration of his office. There have been two separate occasions I have not been able to reach his office for weeks. Use the MUSC - Comprehensive Psychiatric Care Specialists for knowledgable, caring and responsive psychiatric care.

Dr. Fermo is professional and knowledgeable. I find that it is okay to wait a little longer since it’s such a small staff. They do try. Dr. Fermo is educated beyond belief and is more knowledgeable than I could have ever imagined. Plus he is a likable guy that has some unique office decor.
