I recently underwent a complete knee transplant with Dr. Berkowitz and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Berkowitz is caring and exceptional surgeon His knowledge and technical precision is distinguished, impressive. His ability to communicate to you in an easy way to understand and I appreciate how open, easy personality that you resonate toward him. When my knee started bothering me, of course, I went back to him…. My savior!! I loved his explanation comparing knee to tires. I was scheduled to see the PA for an injection. I traveled thirty miles to the appointment to find out that the appointment was canceled due to the doctor and his assistant being called away to the hospital. I was never called, texted or emailed. The front office person said they never received a referral for me. My primary’s office had sent them 4 referrals for which they had evidence.I found out at my visit, which I finally was able to get, that the physician assistant never went to the hospital and was in the office the whole time.Not only is the front office young lady incompetent, but very nasty and rude.This entire incident is a darn shame, because I like Dr. Berkowitz and his physician assistant, but I’m not sure I’ll come back.

Seen Dr since 2014, received few shot knee treatments, always fine the attention. But suddenly after last visit June 2023, when i opt out for more injections , i asked sbout a referral for Knee braces that Dr Berkowitz gave me in Feb 2022 but can’t fulfill . Initially they denied the referral was issued, but after arguing, they ask me to provide proof, and send to Assistant Kathleen Lewis . But since then has been a deceptive service , none of my calls or email was returned, sent proof of the referral. Sad but they erased a good impression. Not willing to comeback.

I had a total knee replacement surgery on December 8th 2022 performed by Dr. Berkowitz. He was referred to me by the Doctor who did my Left knee Dr. Steven Svabek. Dr. Svabek felt that the Right knee may be complicated and that Dr. Berkowitz was a better option. I wish I had called the whole thing off at that point but was a little desperate, as I was told that my uneven gait would improve by virtue of the procedure and I'd avoid back surgery. That opinion was countered toward the end of my tenure with Dr. Berkowitz and his office and that end came on March 27th. So what went wrong? 1. I had to sign myself out of the hospital because the Doctor's treating me did not sign the release order. 2. I expected a CPM machine like in the first surgery and none came. When I asked about it I was told Dr. B didn't believe in them. I think the CPM helped me recover faster the first go around. 3. Dr. B doesn't respond well to criticism and I found his demeanor intimidating. I'm glad it's over.

I recommend Dr Berkowitz to anyone. My surgery was successful, he is honest. Say it the way it is. Of course everyone has to do the therapy and follow all the recommendations for making the best possible recovery. Five Stars!

I came to Dr Berkowitz as a recommendation from my primary. My hip was so bad i needed a new one. After meeting Dr Berkowitz, I did not need to look any further! He looked me in the eyes and took time with me. I felt very comfortable. Had my surgery 2 weeks later. 4 hours after surgery i was walking! Pain free. My other hip will need to be done and I will defiantly have Dr Berkowitz again. Staff if nice and friendly. PT right in his office. I highly recommend!

After visiting a couple of other well-regarded hip surgeons that didn't offer a solution for me, I was encouraged by my PT to consult with Dr. Berkowitz. Beyond finding him to be nice and friendly, and one who spent his time with me, he was able to analyze the problem with my hip. He seemed to know what the problem was based upon the examination, what I told him, and looking at my x-ray even before he examined the MRI. It is also noteworthy that what he told me also made sense. It has taken me two years for me to feel as though I am on the right path for recovery. Thank you, Dr. Berkowitz, and also to your team who went out of their way to accommodate me.

Dr. Berkowitz did my bi-lateral knee replacement surgery on April 26, 2022. I am so thankful for him and his staff, from front desk, to Liz and Maryann who are AMAZING. I could have not chosen a better surgeon and staff.

Dr. Richard D. Berkowitz did an exceptional job last May on my right knee replacement. No complications, pain or discomfort. He and staff are fantastic. I give my highest recommendation and will be having left knee done in June. He and staff treat everyone like family.

Excellent! I had double knee replacement 2/21/2022. Staff and therapy is wonderful. Today is 7 weeks out and I golfed 18 holes.

Dr. Berkowitz replaced my right knee 11 years ago and since 1 week after the surgery, and for the last 11 years I have had severe pain and peripheral neuropathy in that lower right leg which has basically ruined my life but lawyers say that I can't PROVE that he did it!!

I had a wonderfully great experience! I did my total knee replacement surgery on 7/6/2021 and I have never felt better. I feel like a new man no more pain, discomfort, or sleepless nights! Dr Berkowitz is absolutely awesome! I will recommend him to all my friends and family who plan to do knee or hip surgery in the near future.

I’ve had hip and knee surgery performed by Dr. Berkowitz. Extremely satisfied with Dr. Berkowitz and his entire staff. Professional atmosphere and follow visits second to none.

My husband with dementia saw dr. B. for knee replacement. But at no time did dr. B or the anesthesiologist who also knew my husband had dementia tell us that there could be problems of him getting anesthesia due to his dementia. My husband came out of surgery with the mind of a 6 month old baby & never recovered from this damage to his brain. He was in hospital a week & dr. B knew of this problem but yet never visited him or even called me one time. Dr. B then went and released my Ed to go to his home after a week, yet he was not walking,talking, feeding himself, and was on diapers. Due to Ed not able to talk or express himself he got very ill & died 4 weeks later.

It took one call to get an appointment. The appointment was the next day! Staff was friendly and proficient. When I met Dr Berkowitz, we talked for about 15 min and I already felt like I knew him for years! Very professional and gave me options for my knee problems! I was very impressed and would recommend him to anyone that has knee and hip issues!

Dr.Berkowitz is great ..I just had a hip replaced and all he said was true.I was out of the hospital in 2 days walking..His staff is warm and friendly and In highly reccomend him for your surgery.my wife will be going in for a new knee .please call me anythime Howard Miller 954-816-9789

I must say i’m completely satisfied with the revision surgery performed by Dr. Berkowitz on my 19 yr old right hip replacement. HIs diagnosis and plan to revise was spot on and I am recovering very well. I cannot say enough for both the professionalism and courtesies extended to me by not only Dr. Berkowitz, but also his office team and hospital staff. Certainly would recommend him to anyone in need of his expertise and knowledge.

I visited Dr. Berkowitz for pain in my hip. He diagnosed my problem within minutes, but I had Xrays on site to confirm. The doctor was both friendly and professional, but took the time to talk with me and eased my anxiety. The entire staff are friendly, excellent experience.
